Now that it's nearly July, has that large mud puddle in your backyard dried up yet? J/k. Nice house!

I see it's been a while since you last posted, any updates/pics??

i'm not sure if his HT is still going on. over on **********, he said he is selling everything due to not being able to afford it. for awhile he was buying every speaker and component he could find, and now he sold them all.

Now I did sell off the living room arrangement (strata minis, onix h34 tube amp, jolida jd100 CD) - the HT will stay in place (svs, epik conquest, PJ, ref2s, etc).

I have replaced the minis/h34 with some x-omnis and an Onix SP3, which I will comment on once they arrive.

Though, the $380/month accord car payment is really killing me for a winter car...

IN PROGRESS (15%) - Building Home LAN (4 PCs).
ON HOLD - Building Home Gym.

^^ that payment hurts. I replaced my old Toyota with a 2008 VW R32 in May and my payment is $380 for a car with AWD and a bigger engine than the Honda. I'll be paying for 60 months though... >_<<br />
I'm over on the east side in Mayfield Hts, do you have any more pics of your progress? I'd love to hear some high-end audio that I can't afford.

Here's my "build" thread of my already finished basement...

I didn't put anything down on it, hehe. My real car is an 05 bmw 330cic...the honda is doing fine so far in our few early blizzards! A little too much for a winter car, trying to get rid of it...

You can afford my speakers, but may not want to afford the subwoofer ($1700) - but it's definitely worth it!

I plan to get some more progress this christmas if I get some gift cards to a few select stores...nothing major though - looking to buy some velvet curtains with motors from htmarket.com (will roughly be $1100 I think).

Current Projects:

IN PROGRESS (15%) - Building Home LAN (4 PCs).
ON HOLD - Building Home Gym.

Looking good! Nice to see you over at av123 again.

Hopefully the job situation improves.

How far away are the seats? Seems a little open between the screen and the seats. maybe more seats are needed?

What is an ideal range between seat and display for 7 1/2' ceiling , 52" tv in a 10'W x 17'L room ?

The projector is 17 feet away, the seats are roughly 15 feet away (140" screen). I think the calculation thrown around is 1.5 times screen size = viewing distance. That nets 17.5 feet for me, and 6.5 feet for a 52" tv. 17.5ft sounds too far for me, I think with 1080p content you can sit a lot closer.

There could be another back row, but it would put them about 20 feet away - and the soffit area is only 7.5-8 feet tall so an average-> tall person would hit their head!

I've struggled with what to do with the rest of the basement, I almost feel like I need to wall off the movie area because the space feels too open to the sides (and not contained).

If you project in a room that isn't very wide, and you can take up nearly the whole wall - the affect of a projector is more prominent.

I have a lot more projects in mind so my HT has been on hold - someone else said it right, do not connect the projector until you think you're done with your HT area!

Actually moved them to my guest room, will be doing 5.2 instead of 7.2 in the living room - after quick research seems like most movies are "only" 5.1 and will probably not change for a while:

I like that color scheme, Elmo. Why do you have so many systems throughout the house lol? Isn't 2 enough already? One for regular TV and sports, and one real system for movies is enough for me.

Actuaully a lot of the equipment you see was sold, lol. Now I have one for movies, and one for music. Although I'm contemplating selling the music even though I love listening - I think my movie setup could serve the same purpose.
