Thought about that but figured it would look kind of cheesy.

I own a sign shop and we had a fridge we wrapped with a stainless digital print. It looked really nice and people couldn't tell the difference unless they looked for it. I'm sure you could do the same with a wood textured print.

We have a smaller fridge in here now and we haven't wrapped it yet but I'll see if I can find a wood grain to put on it and take a picture.

Unless I misunderstood your name.. go Hokies!!! I graduated in 2000.

better than paying $1100 though. I went the easy route and built a countertop/wetbar with a opening for the fridge.

older pics so don't mind the crappy paint job when I took the pic.

That would be great if you could take a picture. I'm curious to see how it looks.

Josh,

That's what i would have preferred to do if I had the room. I had plans to do a candy counter with a fridge on one side and the popcorn popper on top, but I'm limited to placement in the hall only, so I had to scale it down a little.

Well, it just so happens that my parents sent us a $100 Lowes gift card for our anniversary last week, so I took my wife there yesterday to "show" her this cool little black fridge (only $168). I'm not sure how she currently feels about it, but it's almost like the planets are aligned rignt now, ya know ?

Heck, worst cast scenario you split the gift card. 50 bux to the fridge, so $118 is a heck of a deal. SOLD!

Well, we're back from Vegas and I'm all geared up to do some more work on the theater. Two quick notes for anyone heading out to Sin City anytime soon. If you're into magic and like Criss Angel, save your money on the Believe show he's doing with Cirque. It was absolutely the worst show I've ever seen in Vegas. In fact, I believe it would have been more fun to have had a pencil stuck in my eye than to have seen the show. Oh well - lesson learned.

On a more positive note, for any theater fans out there, the Phantom show at the Venetian was pretty top notch - as good or even better as the broadway production.

That being said, I'm now ready to start knocking out some of the unfinished projects in the basement. We'll probably move forward with the refrigerator idea this weekend, but I need to get some stuff done in the area first. Here's the short list:

- Touch up paint on walls
- Finish staining doors (2 left)
- Attach door hardware
- Build fabric panel to cover water meter
- Build front speaker enclosure on stage
- Purchase and install equipment rack
- Purchase and install projector and screen
- Finish trim work around doors and EQ rack
- Install bass shakers
- Purchase refrigerator
- Hang posters, signs, marquee

Well, nothing got done today Rather than carrying the remaining 2 doors up the stairs and out to the garage to stain, I'm thinking of doing them one at a time in the laundry room. If I can knock those out, I can patch the wall and get the popper in place. It all sounds good right now, but I'm sure something will pop up to slow me down.

I'm also looking forward to projectorcentral's review of the AE-3000, which should be posted sometime tomorrow.

Jason,

Just finished reading your thread. Nice work! I just moved from SLC to the MSP area. I'm getting ready to start my basement and your thread has inspired me to get my A$$ moving.

What part of the metro are you in?

Jason,
Here's a deal you shouldn't pass up. http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/vbcla...?do=ad&id=7352
It's not mine but at that price it shou be gone by the end of the day. If it were mine I'd be asking $800 more than that price.

Bummer,
It must have sold already. It was a Sony VW60 with 218 hours for two grand even.
I should have awakened you from your slumber.

Ah..
I'm waiting for the review today of the Panasonic AE-3000. Unless I can find a reason not to, my guess is that it will probably be the one I go with.

Hokie/Jason,

First off, fantastic job on this build out. Fabulous. You've confirmed a lot of the thoughts i have had with my build which has also begun. I have a question for you, do you have any close up photos of the framing for the soffit? That would help a lot. You can PM them if you want. I'd appreciate that. Thanks very much.

Thanks,
Jay Maclovin

Jay,

I'll dig through my photos and see what I can find. I think most are at the drywall stage. I may have something that shows the soffit from afar. Perhaps I can zoom and crop the image. I'll let you know.

Thanks for the comments.

I'm down in Lakeville, but I get up to the New Hope / Plymouth area a fair bit.

Let me know your thoughts on the new Panasonic once you find the reviews.

Dan,

You're more than welcome to check out the build the next time you're up this way.

Here's the review that Projectorcentral posted. I'm reading it right now.

You can now preorder your AE3000 at projector people. Quite a bit cheaper than I thought I was going to have to pay.
