I recently borrowed a projector for work and now I want one. I already have my pull down screen (74"). Definitely a modest set up, not even worthy of being labeled "home theater".
I have some questions I was hoping the gurus around here could touch on. Been here for a while and you guys seem to always know the answers!
I want to get this projector: http://www.amazon.com/ViewSonic-2019...2972703&sr=8-1
for a kind of temporary 3D set up. I already have nVidia 3D Vision (currently using on a CRT monitor) and the computer to drive it. I think I'm fine on the computer side of things, but my worry is more to do with my game consoles/video players.
Is there an easy way to connect this to my PS3 (uses HDMI) for Blu-Ray?
^ ^ ^ to my Xbox 360 (Uses HDMI) for Netflix/Gaming?
^ ^ ^ to my HD-DVD player (uses HDMI)?
I am going on the cheap since I need/want a pj now but also am hesitant about spending too much since it's not confirmed HDMI 1.3 will work for 3D Blu-Ray. I could use this PJ ($420!) until the 3D standard is more open and out there for me to see. I'm not really concerned about watching 3D Blu-ray on this PJ, but I am concerned about watching Blu-Rays and gaming on my consoles.
I have read that HDMI to VGA adapters do not exist in cheap form, and are known to degrade the quality.
Is my only option for the console is to get the VGA cables for them and I'll just be SOL for the HD-DVD player? I don't really want to spend the money on a Blu-Ray drive for my PC as it's added cost to a temporary solution..
Thanks for any input!
