A personal thanks to Samsung from me for making my daily life a whole lot more fun.
I am having more fun right now sitting in front of my UN40C7000 desktop 3D monitor then I have had in years.
I used to just sit in front of my computer monitor and do my daily mundane activities including browsing this forum. Now thanks to whoever made the decision to include checkerboard 3D support I am enjoying a whole new dimension of the world around me and even recording it in 3DHD.
I am very lucky.
Thanks again.

Since I've got several sets of shutter glasses now, I would love to replace my computer screen with something like this, but my space requires nothing bigger than 24". I guess they will have the smaller sized 3d screens at some point...

My UN40C7000 doesn't really fit my desk but I found a way and boy am I glad I did.

How is the crosstalk on this set?

Are using the rollermod.inf for the checkerboard?
HDMI1.4 checkerboard for all! 3D Vision software fix here!

checkerboard hdmi1.4 fix, part 2 suppressing the red overlay

Should allow windowed 3D with 3DTV's too! havent tested yet myself.

Allows NVidia 3D Vision to work '1920x1080 3D checkerboard at 60 frames per eye' with 3DTVs that supports checkerboard. Its half res but with tv scaling it might look better than the 720p60Hz.

As side effect it allows windowed 3D same as how it works with with 3D monitors.

Most of my day has been spent sitting spellbound in front of my Samsung 3DTV watching an alien world I've never really seen before.
And that alien world was just outside my bedroom door.
I had my remote controlled 3D camera sitting in the snow pointing up at a tree in my backyard and I was watching the live 3D feed on my Samsung desktop monitor. I was zooming and panning around in awe, recording most of the time.
I showed some of it to my housekeeper and she was absolutely blown away in awe.
I almost had to forcefully remote the shutter glasses from her head.

This blows away Avatar in 3D.

Frank,

Which 3D camera setup are you using? Sounds interesting to say the least.

One of my own design.
It is currently using twin Canon HF-21s.
I like the fact that I have 15X zoom.
I started to build one several years ago but had to stop because I had to have retina surgery.
Boy do I wish I had this unit working several years ago when I had a family of black bears living in an eagles nest next to my living room.
Unfortunately, the bears destroyed it eventually.

I haven't as yet found much use for these other modes like "row interleaved" and "column interleaved" and I still haven't figured out what the last one is.

I did find a NASA related website that showed 3D images in interleaved format but I forgot where I saw it.

Some 3D applications designed to work with passive displays (i.e. Zalman) can output row-interleaved stereo. Lot of molecular modeling software will do this mode.

Could the last one be frame-sequential mode for quad-buffered page-flipped stereo? If so, that would make this display easily the most versatile I've seen.

I honestly have no idea what that last one does.
Perhaps a call to Samsung might yield an answer.
Even not knowing, I am sure this is the most versatile 3D television/monitor I've ever seen.

Just found out that one of my brothers was just heard bragging about his new Sony 3D Television.
I hate to break it to him but he should have bought a Samsung.
Oh well, he never listened to my advice anyway.

Too bad, he could have been watching live 3D from my home and all kinds of things that won't be possible with his Sony.

Dear Samsung,
Thanks in advance for including checkerboard support in your new 3D front projector.
Just another indicator of how much more advanced
you are then the other manufacturers.
I'll take 10!

Can you picture this on your 3DTV?
1. A 3D window showing live 3D from
a 3D camera mounted on a remote
controlled vehicle.
2. On screen controls for moving
the vehicle and full PTZ control
over the camera including the ability
to record several hours of 1080P60
stereoscopic 3D.
3. Another on screen 3D window for
viewing previosly recorded 3D.
4. Virtually unlimited software applications
on screen at the same time.

By this weekend I plan to have my 2nd Samsung 3DTV mounted to my treadmill and my stereo 3D camera mounted to my Traxxas monster truck so I can drive it around my property and watch the live 3D while I'm exercising.

So I am guessing I'm the only one doing this?

I am pleased to report that I am typing this on my velcro'd on Blutooth keyboard while walking on my treadmill and watching live 3D.
Pretty awesome if I don't say so myself.
Next step is to get some stiffer suspension coil springs for my Traxxas and mount the 3D camera equipment.

Are you trying to tell me that everyone else doesn't multitask like I do?

Yikes! I just watched the YouTube video. I didn't realize how shaky it was. No wonder I was having mouse issues.
I need to get that under control before I try driving my 3D camera around while jogging.

Actually, NO!
Two cataract surgeries and two retina surgeries later, I can see better with the Samsung. Not kidding.
Don't forget that it can record over 5 hours of 3D on demand.
