The 47" version is now $748 @ Wally world. Appears to the new low price. Likely at end of life and being phased out.

HD DVD = 64
Blu-Ray = 171
Blu-Ray 3D = 10
SDVD = 585

I feel much better about my purchase now. I love 3d even though almost everyone I know hates it. After much research I went ahead and ordered the 47inch set yesterday and have been second guessing my purchase ever since. I wish the thing would just get here already.

A question also, does anyone know if these sets support the 3d file format for the EVO 3d smart phone?

Well less than 24 hours until my set arrives. I am so giddy waiting for it. It feels just like Christmas when I was a child. I have read every bit of information I could find. I am going to try and remain active in this thread because there isn't a whole lot of information to be found. A lot of the information contained in this thread is very valuable. One thing I am more interested in is the Panasonic blu ray that does 2d-3d conversion. I will try to provide lots of answers as well as figure out if I can record and watch 3d videos from the Evo 3d.

Ok so I just looked at my Vizio in 3d and it was freaking amazing. I am so happy I purchased this television, it is way better than I hoped for. The 3d is amazing. My advice to you is if your looking for an inexpensive 3d solution don't hesitate to buy this set now. I will be updating this thread after I test tv more. Hopefully I will also be able to play 3d games today if I can get a hold of my friends copy of Halo.

After a few hours with this set I am more than happy with the 3d capabilities. I am a little disappointed in the 2d right now but im sure I can fix those annoyances with proper settings for 2d content.

So gaming on this set is amazing. It is nice being able to see what is up ahead. I think video gamers are the ones who can make our beloved 3d a permanent fixture. If your a gamer buy this set now, you wont be sorry that you did.

Best thing about this set, I just scored 10 pairs of glasses from my friend who works at movie theatre for a total cost of $0. If I would have gotten that Sammie or that Panasonic that would have run me between $300 and $1600 wow I love this tv. It will be cool wearing my limited edition Lorax glasses at home with it too.

Second day is usually when my buyers remorse sets in. But not today, I love this set. The opening sequence of Final Destination just blew me away.

I know I posted some settings on one of the three E3D threads I follow. Out of the box you're right, the 2D picture can stand some work with the settings.

HD DVD = 64
Blu-Ray = 171
Blu-Ray 3D = 10
SDVD = 585

"Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment plans an April 17 3D Blu-ray release of the 2003 James Cameron documentary on the RMS Titanic. The release of Ghosts of the Abyss is just a few days after the centennial that marks the ships sinking in the Atlantic Ocean on its maiden voyage to New York. "

I'm gonna get this.

HD DVD = 64
Blu-Ray = 171
Blu-Ray 3D = 10
SDVD = 585

Help please. Anyone with this set have a problem using some of the Starz on Demand 3d format content? I just got Cox cable today and went to Starz on Demand, all of the 3d content will not display properly. I went to HBO on Demand and all but one movie displays in 3D, is this a problem with Starz? Is anyone else having this problem on this set? Is there a setting I could change?

If the channel is feeding 3d at 1080i it messes up my Vizio. I had to switch the cable output to 720p.

No problem...I thought my set was defective before I tried that. And oh, don't be too jealous of the 65" owners...I've had the XVT and currently have the M3D650 and the picture quality of the E47 is far superior...so much that I'm considering going back to the 47" and not having to deal with blooming, smearing, and motion blur.

As promised, here are more of my impressions. Up until last night didnt know what gaming lag was. I had heard of it, but not experienced first hand. I was playing Zen Pinball 2 and there was a delay between the action on screen and when I pushed the controller. So I switched the game mode on and it immediately fixed the problem.

So on Tuesday, I paired my tv with a new ps3 (my old 40gb Spider Man 3 went out in early February). After searching all over online I decided to go with the 160gb Harry Potter 3d experience set, since 3d was the only reason I was even replacing it. All I can say is WOW! I love how Sony has integrated 3d into the ps3. If you own 3dtv Ps3 is way to go. Also picked up the Harry Potter part I 3d and it is by far the worst 3d I have ever seen but it is only $19,99 this week at Best Buy so if you need a copy, it also comes with the 2d blu ray so it is a fair deal.

Played through House of the Dead: Overkill directors cut today. The 3d effect in this game was wonderful. They added 2 levels to the PS3 version and it is played with move. They added some cinematic popout in certain levels that is so well done. If you love horror movies, and have this tv and a ps3 oh yeah and a move, you owe it to yourself to get this game. So in conclusion, after viewing much 3d content on this set. If you are looking for an inexpensive 3d solution, you wont go wrong with this set. If you aren't on a budget, then you probably want to consider the higher end sets from LG as they will most definitely offer you a slightly better experience.

Hey Wonka

I have a Vizio in my man cave in addition to the LG. It looks great to me. Keep up the fight.

Thanks, not so much a fight as it is others liking to bash my opinions.

I figured out how to view the photos from my EVO 3D using the Playstation 3. I copied my photos and videos over seamlessly using the photo gallery software. It is awesome viewing my 3d videos on a bigger screen. I will definitely be shooting more pics and video in 3d now that I can view them on my television set.

I bought this TV on Monday. I'm sitting at firmware version 1.0.12.0473. It hasn't done a single update since I got it (it is connected to WiFi). I talked to support today and I was told the TV checks for new firmware every time it's turned on but they do rolling updates and also that the 2.17 update has been put on hold due to a bug with Netflix. Netflix doesn't work for me on the ancient 1.0.12.0473 firmware I have. Loving the TV otherwise though.

What size did you purchase? My 47" took the update just fine.

So today my friend received their 55 lg. I definitely recommend LG over the Vizio for overall image quality, if price is not a factor. All in all considering though, Vizio is producing a nice passive 3d set, but think of the Vizio as going to a nice theatre that is a bit older and think of the LG as the new theatre that has all the amenities. Either way, you will have a good experience, but if you have the LG, you can have bagging rights. And now that I have seen two types of passive 3d, Im gonna say, passive is much easier on the eyes and overall looks better and LG has made the 3d interface very simple for novice users.

Quick question since I have very old firmware I'm not sure if it's changed or not, but does Netflix on it ask for an email address and password, or do you get a code and have to go to their site?

I decided to call Vizio support. When searching online for my model (the model written on the box and also what it shows in the help menu on the TV) I found forum posts about newer firmware which were posted a year ago. It turns out this tv's model has been updated this year and is model E3D320VX-1. The firmware I have is 1.0.x and apparently is the latest for this model (2.x is the newest for model E3D320VX), which is why it hasn't been updating.

In case anyone wants to know how to get into the factory menu, hit menu on your remote and then press 2489. Doing the Clean Storage option fixed my problem with connecting to Netflix.

So I have had a 3d movie marathon on my Vizio this weekend.

I started with Step Up 3d then, Transformers 3, Tin Tin and finally Captain America.

Best part is, I have had no headaches or eyestrain and got to wear these cool glasses. My next 3d tv will be an LG, unless Samsung is making passive by then but until that time, my Vizio will do me just fine to enjoy 3d movies and games.

Showed my 47" Vizio to my nephew who has been in prison for 10years, he can't believe his eyes. This is a good set for 3d.
