Has anyone downloaded either of the two I mentioned above? 04.02.87 or 04.20.18? Trumotion was there on both with all three settings available. Now, I'll be honest I haven't really been able to try a particular test to prove what they actually do?

My only complaints so far is the sometimes less than cooperative remote and I can actually see a window reflection clear out in the dining room watching during the day that I never noticed on my Aquos I replaced. Picture quality is SO much better though, I am pleased.smile.gif

And, those unhappy with the sound, witb proper adjustments this LG sounds better than my Sharp did. Now, if I want to watch mcvies or the big game I fire up the Denon theater system and the Paradigm speakers and it's a theater or stadium in here. I love the voice recognition adjustment for just breaking the voices through all the effects better so I can actually hear what they're saying without the "turn it down" complaints.

Now, if we could just get channels to enforce the CALM act on the stupid commercials. mad.gif

I guess your model 42LM6200 is excluded from this discussion (just like LM7600). only a certain batch is affected by the lack of trumotion settings. each batch uses different firmware (and I dont mean revision).

Hey guys,

i bought an 55LM5850 now i wanted to make the update to (Version 03.40.08) . Now it is stuck at 19% and there is a red light blinking every 2 seconds. it has been like that for like 30 minutes. LG told me to wait until there is an error message. if not by tomorrow morning to just unplug the power and the usb key and it will come back as normal. do you guys think it is safe to do unplug it even if it's stuck at 19% ?

maybe try re-downloading the firmware also if you have another usb stick try it instead.

it might be that the tv first copies the firmware from usb stick then does the update. if that's the case then it got stuck copying/reading from the stick.

Hey

I've had my 47 LM6200 since June and went through all the Trumotion Firmware update nightmares. Recently it seems that ( maybe since the last update) there is something going on with the Trumotion. Basically I like the soap opera effect and was wondering if someone could point me to some settings or adjustments that I can try that allow for the best picture and still get the soap opera effect. I can mess with the settings myself for ever but I dont really know what each one does. I basically watch hd cable tv, play xbox and ps3 and watch movies off of my hard drive. SO, if anyone could offer up some example settings and adjustments I could try I would be extremely grateful! Thank You!!

not sure about their naming scheme and how much it matters. as long as you select the right country and model it should be fine. but dont know. when you click on "view more" under the file download link it should have your model listed.

I really can't find the information on the internet

Thanks a lot !

I have just purchased the LM5850 and as with other LM series tvs the Trumotion feature is missing. Not only can it not be found in the settings menu but based on the tvs poor motion handling the feature is definitely not turned on. I to am baffled as to why LG would do this. Except for the time it takes to write the code, firmware is cheap. It really makes me wonder if there is another reason why all the models below the LM7600 are missing the full implementation of the Trumotion feature.
Correct me if I'm wrong; the LM6700 still only has the de-judder enabled right? Has the problem got anything to do with the fact that this year's tvs use video processors designed and built by LG. I believe last year's models used outsourced processors. Just a thought.

My complaint to LG regarding my 55LM4600 and their Ver. 03.40.08 software...

On November 26th (Cyber Monday) I purchased your 55LM4600 via Walmart-Online. It arrived November 29th.

On November 30th, 2012, I Installed the TV and tested all of its functions. I am happy with everything.

Next Day I downloaded and installed, from your website, your recommended firmware update Version 03.40.08.

Decided to watch a 3D show yesterday with family and noticed that after this update I can no longer select 3D viewing (the boxes for over and under or side by side are GREYED OUT (see attachment). Prior to this update, the 3D option worked fine.

Yesterday (Dec 10th), I contacted you regarding this issue. I requested a software patch or ORIGINAL set-up software to reverse the problem your Version 03.40.08 created and was told you do not offer a patch nor original factory setting software. I was informed you will contact me with a resolution, but that has been 20 hours ago!

I am a former Manufacturing Engineer and I know the realm of software engineered history. You have the software to undo your update. Send it so I can return this TV to your factory setting or…

I will return it, request a refund and tell all my experience.

No answer as of this post.

I just bought a 47LM4600 from walmart, can anyone confirm this a real 120hz panel? A prompt accurate answer would be appreciated as I will return it for sure this sounds like fraud on part of LG. I know full well what this set should be doing as I have used this on my older model http://www.svp-team.com/

There is so much false info now it is difficult to know what the truth is. I will have to figure out how to transport this thing back to the store with my small car. If I were a lawyer I see nice opportunity for a class action suit, false advertising fraud lawsuit against LG. It says right on the box Trumotion 120hz, LED, 1080p. I don't know what that means to LG but when I see that in big print on the box it better be included features otherwise its fraud. I should try to research how to file a complaint with the FTC and FCC.

SUBJECT: 3D not available after Ver. 03.40.08 update. Worked GREAT before update!

PROBLEM: CAN NOT SELECT 3D MODES – (grayed out) when using Comcast 3D programing.

I have done the following:

* Unplugged from power and RESET 55LM4600 to Initial settings

* Verified my HDMI cables are 1.2 Grade or higher (I have 1.3 grade high speed)… RESULT = FAIL

* Verified my HDMI cables are securely connected… RESULT = FAIL

* Contacted Comcast (Xfinity ™) and had them test and reset their signal twice with my other two HD 3D Cable boxes (which I switched both times = 4 tests)… RESULT = FAIL

* Tested on my USB Flash Drive with a 3D Movie... RESULT = PASSED

* Tested on my LG Model: BP325W 3D Blu-ray Player connected via HDMI… RESULT = PASSED

LG has not replied so far!!!

Bought my LG 55LM4600 3D HDTV on 'Cyber Monday' after Thanksgiving through Wal*mart for $899.98 with FREE Shipping to my home.
After updating it with the LG ver. 03.40.08 software, it no longer allowed my cable 3D to decode.
Contacted LG dozens of times with no solution from them!

Went to the Walmart website and bought another one for $100.00 LESS with free shipping to my home before Christmas. biggrin.gif

When it arrives, I'll take the other 'Updated' unit back that I overpaid for! cool.gif

See my complaints to LG below:

Received Date : 12/11/2012 14:00 49
The type of inquiry : Software Drivers/Updates
Product/Model No. : LCD TV ( 33" Under )/55LM4600

I will wait 5 days to have this resolved before I contact the Better Business Bureau.
By the way… On Oct. 8th, I ordered and paid for a pair of your LG Washer & Dryers ($2100.00), [waiting to be delivered], which I will cancel, if my 55LM4600 3D HDTV issue is not resolved! mad.gif

Their Reply:
Thank you for choosing LG Electronics, my name is Adam and I am a Home Electronics Product Specialist and i will be more than happy to assist you today.

Judging strictly from the picture provided, you are able to view 3D content by 2D-3D conversion. Unfortunately on the grand scale of things, a less than 24 hour turnaround for almost any is just not usually possible. We service hundreds of thousands of people in the US alone and problems are addressed in the order in which they are received. No one is given any special treatment over another. I’m sorry you had to wait 20+ hours but any issue takes time to investigate, diagnose, and correct no matter what the issue is. The type of 3D picture that you can view will be limited to what the source allows you to see. If you have a 3D BluRay player then you will most likely be able to view all 5 different 3D modes because most BluRay units support this but then you may be viewing content from a cable box and only two options are available. If this is the case then the signal source is only allowing you to view these two types of 3D picture. You may be able to contact your cable service provider to change the type of the signal to something else or you may be able to change this from the cable box itself but for further information on that you will need to contact your cable service provider. Again, it is very important to remember that the television will ONLY show the 3D type/quality that it is given by the external device so if the device is only sending your television a 2D-3D conversion signal, 2D-3D conversion is all that your television will be able to display until you connect a device that will display something else. eek.gif

I've returned the turd of a TV. I have this model now http://www.walmart.com/ip/LG-50LS4000-50-1080p-120Hz-2D-LED-3.22-ultra-slim-HDTV/21693002 the 50LS4000 it has trumotion controls and soap opera effect if its cranked up. The picture quality is more in line with what I except its not blurry as hell. I own a 42ld450 http://www.avsforum.com/t/1257131/official-lg-xxld450-thread/0_100 so I know this 47LM4600 is a piece of crap when it looks worse than set that is over two years old and not even an LED model. Avoid the 47LM4600 this tv is a failure.

Can anyone help me out with some info on this specific model, 47LM4700.

It comes bundled with a soundbar, I did the latest update on it which is the 03.40.08 and I didn't notice any change in the options or picture quality.

The picture quality is not what I expected and I don't believe I have any options for the TruMotion.

All i have is Real Cinema On or Off, is that it? I don't notice any change at all when I have it set to either on or off.

Also, I would like to have the soap opera effect on this TV. Does anyone have this TV that can provide some info on their settings?

Trumotion would be listed under menu-> Picture -> scroll down it would be right under picture reset and before screen RGB-pc which would be grayed out if not using it. Not there means you don't have it. It will have 4 settings off/low/high/user with custom de-judder and de-blur for user 1-10. If you do have it in some other form (no control hardwired on) video games will play like crap full of input lag since you can't turn it off at will.

I just upgraded my LG47LM4600 to the latest firmware currently on LG's website and no Trumotion is showing up in the options.

Is this normal on this particular TV to not have the Trumotion option available to adjust?

Should I be contacting LG in order to have them fix the TV or replace it, as I can no longer return it to the store?

So the TV is broken as it does not have the option in the menu or is there a fix beyond just updating the firmware?

LG will probably tell you that trumotion is just always on and there are no options to change settings on it.

Awesome user review: "Unreal quality. Sounded like I upgraded my speakers." :D
