Mitsubishi WD737 is a 2009 3d DLP It is "3D ready" but doesn't have a built-in 3D decoder. for this TV you will need a 3da-1 adapter and ask Mitsubishi as well for any new firmware updates for the TV. this is the link for the 3da-1 adapter http://www.mitsubishi-tv.com/accessory/3DA-1 also 3dglassesunlimited is selling the 3da-1 adapter here is their number (800)918-5390 and the direct link in their website http://www.3dglassesunlimited.com/mitsubishi-3d-adapter-3da1-for-mitsubishi-dlp-3d-ready-hdtvs-p-78.html?osCsid=abd5f6508379aada7b8d9fe23e237006.

The most current software is avaliable for download via the Support section of the Mitsubishi web site www.mitsubishi-tv.com.

However, yes for your Bluray player you do not need the adapter because that bluray player does convert to the checkerboard format. You do need the adapter for DirecTV, cable or other brands of bluray players that do not convert to checkerboard.
