The hmz t2's that are being released on the 13th October 2012 are way over priced
Sony said earlier in the year that they were hoping to make them a little more afforderble than the T1's well that's a let down as these are going to cost £560 and if you buy them off eBay like the ones available now you will be paying £960 .I have been waiting for a long time for these to come available and I've got the money to buy these butt out of principle I'm going to give it a miss and buy something else. Cheers Sony

As for the post above mentioning gaming ,well if it's a virtual reality 3d head tracking headset
Your after at a realistic price then you really should check out the (oculus Rift) http://oculusvr.com/
This is the future in gaming but you will have to wait a few more months until they release the consumer version, and when they do your be able to plug any video input into it so your be able to watch 3d movies as well as you play station , x box , pc tongue.gif

Nope, oculus is PC games only, it wont work with consoles or even Movies on PC.

It wont even work with all PC games, because of the high FOV the image is distorted, to support Oculus games have to be adjusted to support this specific FOV and resolution.

So basically only Few PC games will work with Oculus (the ones that will support it), you can say bye bye to old pc games and movies too.
It wont work with consoles or anything other then a PC

ViruzzX is absolutley right in saying that the rift at the moment only supports pc because that's all it does at present if you decide to purchase one of the developer kits.
However oculus have stated that when they launch the consumer version of he rift it will support pc,Xbox and ps3
If it only supported pc they would be leaving a massive gap in the market for this product.
As for games well yes the game is going to have to be a game specialy designed for the rift
Which most if not all of the major gaming developers are doing just that right now and have been for some time now, many are working on re programming old games to work on it.
At present there is only one game rift compatible and that is Doom 3 and judging by the peoples reactions when they've tried it you just know its good

The game Hawken will be Oculus-ready and launches on 12.12.12!
If oculus keep there promise on launch of the rift it will work on whatever consule you use maybe not the wii maybe it will it really depends on the game developers to support it.

Plus someone is working on a virtual movie theatre and another on a virtual multi-monitor setup for the Rift.

It has a ridiculously low resolution for that FOV (640x480) so a virtual movie theatre will look like complete crap.

640x800, actually, nearly double VGA resolution. Probably not that well suited for a cinema replacement, but fine for game development.

And they've said the consumer version will be a higher resolution.
