I will be getting a 55" UT50 and was wanting to know what are the best glasses for this model. I have never owned a 3d or plasma tv so i dont know what works best. Also are 3d blu players pretty much the same as far as pq and 3d? I will most likely be getting the panasonic 3d blu ray player. Thanks

I went with the Panasonic TY-ER3D4MU for my 50UT50 and they work great. It's what Panasonic recommends (of course) and they are $50 on amazon.

I know right! I couldn't find any for that model but they do sell the old model in pairs but I would stick with the new model though.

Check out this Cnet article review of several 3D active glasses that work with the 2012 Panasonic plasmas:
http://reviews.cnet.com/8301-33199_7-57441520-221/sorta-universal-active-3d-tv-glasses-compared/?part=rss&subj=news&tag=title

The cheaper Samsungs work (<$20 @amazon) and are good for checking out the 3D capability and for extras for guests.

Good find! I came across those but I couldn't find any solid feedback on them so I passed. I am still looking to buy a couple more for when I have friends over so let me know how they work for you.

Interesting thread.Got a Panasonic tcp65gt30.Ordered 2 of the Universal glasses mentioned before back in Dec 2011.I'm not going to give a long detailed review -basically they do the job for the money.Fast forward to the present-we need a third pair for a monthly guest. So I decide to research a bit to see maybe we should upgrade.Only to find the Panasonic glasses wont work with my tv..Oh well time to order another pair-at least I know they will work.
