We were having my house painted and the painters knocked my magnepan center speaker off the shelf right into the screen of my plasma PNC8000 3d TV. I loved that TV. They tell me it would be 1500 just to change out the cracked screen plus anything else that's wrong. I guess I'm getting a new one. It was the best at the time. Any suggestions? Passive or active?

Personally, I would go passive if I didn't care so much about pic quality...but that's a whole 'nother can-o-worms. http://www.avsforum.com/t/1437658/keep-3d-active-or-make-switch-to-passive-3d-tv

Just wanted to say that I hope your painters are PAYING FOR YOUR NEW TV, right??

Thanks I'm reading through it. No clear winner apparently.

What size? I'd go active if you can afford a 2012 TV, they are very bright and have much less crosstalk. A few have pixels that change color as fast as plasmas which makes for less crosstalk.
