Just to let you know, red flash is fixed, no reds, benq w1080st+ works great!! Nice and clean picture, I am amazed at the quality. Good progression from BENQ.

Where are you guys getting your kitty paws on the GDG5?

I want to buy 4 glasses and preferably not pay too much over 100 dollars on them, because that's a lot of money and stuff. And since I am just one person with one pair of eyes, and 3 others are for guests.......

Cheapest Estar ESG601 I found was these --- $31 a piece
http://www.ebay.com/itm/EStar-Americ...item3aa7aa377a

Cheapest Sainsonic SSZ-200DLB --- $22 a piece
http://www.amazon.com/SainSonic-SSZ-.../dp/B0085JBI6S

And cheapest True Depth XL --- $80 a pair
http://www.amazon.com/True-Depth-Rec...s=TrueDepth+XL

BenQ D5 glasses I think I found cost over 60 a piece.

Are the Sainsonic SSZ-200DLB a catch for the price of $22? Maybe I could get 2 Saisonic and 2 True Depth XL!

What are the pros and cons in comparison between the Sainsonic 200DLB and True Depth XL?

The Depth XL have ghosting and the sharpness of the image changes as you tilt your head left and right so you need to be at the right viewing angle for the best definition. I have two pairs and both do the same. On the positive side, it has the least reflections of all which I enjoy a lot just wish it did not have the ghosting issue.
The Estars are VERY bad in the reflections lowering the contrast on the lower part of the glass. I am trying to figure out how to maybe hang a piece of cloth from the bottom to block those as overall the IQ from the Estars is awesome. So it is probably the easiest to fix.
The GDG5 has little reflections but somehow the brightness/contrast seems a bit lower than the rest which bothers me so I dont use them much at all. Plus pulling then out with one hand they can poke your eyes so careful
BTW, when I say reflections I am not referring to the side ones but ones sort of from the face to your glasses.

Regards

Can someone recommend me a set of 3D DLP glasses that totally block the red tint that are available in the UK?

Thanks.

I just purchased two BenQ D5 glasses and I noticed that when the 3d is activated they make a buzzing humming noise that is audible enough to be distracting during quiet scenes in a movie. Any one else confirm if their D5 glasses make noise? The Benq D3 glasses never made any sound. When the glasses are just powered on with no signal there is no noise, and the sound goes away every time I look away from the screen and the glasses are not synched.

Ok, so I was able to get an RMA from Benq for the D5 glasses due to the noise and they gave me two new pairs. The new pairs sound exactly the same. The first two pairs and the new pairs all have a manufacturing date of Dec 2014, I don't know if that's relevant.

Hi Guys,

Just sharing that I've used the following 3D glasses - purchased from eBay - they are no-brand ones (as are those SainSonic etc) and I can't be happier.

It conceals the red in 3D and have a pretty good contrast so it doesn't bog down the image a whole lot. Obviously things go darker in 3D, but with some tweak to 3D settings (which i'm posting below) it comes out fine.

Oh and i just wanted to ask - the 3D on Benq looks to be a bit flatter ... my previous Optoma HD66 (which was a mere 720p) projector when combined with their 3D-XL adapter would delivery quite deep 3D and the pop-out effect was also a bit pronounced. Doesn't seem the same with 3D on the Benq ..

Is there a way to adjust this?

This thread is really for 3D glasses. For general info on the projector from users, you might try here:
