At CES2013 we saw these curved 3D OLED displays. Interesting concept but I'm not sure what the advantage of being curved is. The flat OLED 3D display looked just as good. These were said to be 1080p resolution, not 2160p. I believe Sony had the only "4K" or 2160p OLED on show but they did not demo the 3D version although they said all their OLED TV's will be 3D capable at release.

Recorded with Sony 3D Camcorder HDR TD10 using special filter to preserve the 3D on these displays.

They are curved for uniform eye-to-screen distance, which I suppose matters for wide angle/close viewing distance - less eye strain, more clarity.

This. I suppose it would really only matter with the very large sets. The downside is that there would then be a "correct" place to sit, where all pixels are exactly perpendicular to your line of sight.

Regardless of that theory, I found the reflection glare far more distracting and bothersome. It was my biggest disappointment with OLED. Previously, I saw Sony Broadcast monitors with their OLED screens at NAB and they never showed them with black, but rather color bars and test patterns. Here I didn't see the reflection. This is the first time OLED was shown at CES with 4K and 2K video with lots of black in the pictures.

I will render out the Sony 4K OLED tomorrow and post it. That was impressive but once again the glare was a disappointment.

Wouldn't a curved screen result in distortion in the picture as it's shot to be shown on a flat display?

Awesome user review: "Unreal quality. Sounded like I upgraded my speakers." :D
