Hi,

I have been doing research and while I have found a lot of info on 42" + models, it is hard to find good info on smaller 3d sets. Since in the room it will be placed it will only be about 4 feet from the couch, a large set seems to make no sense. However, I do not want to compromise PQ any more than possible and am particularly interested in good 3D picture for 3D gaming.

This TV will be replacing a stalwart Sony XBR960. I hate to see the old guy go because he still has amazing PQ but he weighs 200lbs, takes up a lot of space and lacks alot of the latest features and only one hdmi input.

What is a suitable replacement that won't offend in comparison.

For gaming, you will have to take a look at the 120 Hz 3d-vision monitors, like the 27 inch with LightBoost Asus, probably the best.

For a (much) cheaper solution, check the 32" Sceptre (passive 3d).

And for 3d, you need closer viewing distance, more like 1.5 times the screen diagonal.
