Since there isn't a 3D Software/Media section, I figured I'd post this question here.

Why the hesitance on releasing 3D BD titles? The studios already have quite a few films in SS3D, but they seem to be very reluctant on releasing them. I understand holding off a little while on something like "Avatar", but films like "Final Destination 3D" and "My Blood Valentine 3D" shouldn't be that hard to throw together and get on the market.

As they say, content is king.

Currently testing 3D with Sammy DLP, shutter glasses, and HTPC

Well it's coming! They are timing it right I'm sure. Plus, 3D Blu-Ray players are sooo new and the PS3 hasn't even got the free update yet. This summer we'll start to see official releases.

I would have thought the same thing until I saw that article on the four Shrek 3D films having a 1 year exclusive with a CEM.

Quote:

As a promotional tool, Samsung will have an exclusive on the 3D Blu-ray versions of all four "Shrek" movies later this year for a full year, while regular versions of the Blu-rays will be available through all retailers.

And we do that a thread for 3D BD title listings:
