I will be upgrading from a Pioneer BDP-51FD so would like to see something with DVD upscaling at least that good, plus source direct output option if possible.

It is good to be a pioneer! I would suspect the information you are looking for is not yet fully available. The units need to be fully tested first. In addition, I am sure you are aware that you are purchasing version 1.0 units. From what I have heard, the technology is advancing rapidly but it is bleeding edge, at present. I too am looking to upgrade but I will not do so until second or third generation units are fully tested. Good luck!

I'm very happy with the Panasonic. Upscaling is quite good.
