Not sure which way to go.
I would like to get the best 3d experience that is possible with my setup and would like to have 4 glasses. Currently I use a PS3 as the disc player and Have directv with the latest 3d capable receiver.

Does any one have any recommendations on which setup will be best for watching Movies and Directv 3d.
Mits 3dc-100s or Tru3d kit. and then add another pair of glasses?

Thanks
Robert

Since the Mits kit is made for your TV without any work arounds I would recommend it. also you have one less adapter (Gefen) to worry about.

Now what about additional glasses are the x103 the way to go or should I stick with Mits glasses?

The Mits glasses ate actually Samsung glasses. I have them and like them a lot. From what I have read most people prefer the Samsung.

I do not think that the Mits glasses are actually made in a Samsung plant I think that they both buy their glases from the same OEM glasses manufacturer and have them labeled with with their own company logo.

These glasses are the same as the Samsung SSG-2100AB - 3D glasses. In the manual they state if you need additional glasses get the Samsung glasses. Samsung is a big enough company to make these glasses (in China) and Mits probably has a deal with Samsung.

Mits 3dc-100s or Tru3d kit. and then add another pair of glasses?

Robert

I went with the Tru3d kit and I still haven't gotten it to work. If I had to do it over, I would go with the 3DC-100s. If I could get the 100s without the glasses or anything else that comes with it, I would buy that dump my Tru3d kit. I sent Tru3d e-mail but got no reply..

Update--- Tru3d did contact me and requested that I return my unit for an update. As soon as I receive the replacement, I will report my experiences.

UPDATE 2 ---Well, I have been using the system now for a few months and it performs flawlessly. I am very happy with the setup.

ASUS Formula III Rampage MB
Intel I7 960 CPU ATI 5850
12GB RAM 58TB Storage
Windows 7 Ultra 64 Bit
Arcsoft TMT5, Ceton Infinity4
Onkyo 5008 to Samsung HL67A750

Can someone tell me what the difference is between the 3DC-100 and the 3DC-1000 kit is?

I have a HL67A750 and a PS3, and am seriously considering picking up this kit from Best Buy just to see if it's worth the $399

I have found 3DGlassesUnlimited.com has the actual adapter by itself available. I ordered one form my Sammy HL-T6176S and my PS3. It works great. I was worried about the tru3d workaround - what happens if the Geffen device fails or gets reset?

I apologize, so did you order one from this site? I never ran across before, but it does come up in searches now. Site was registered In July 2010 and most traffic started occurring late Jan 2011. It seems to be affiliated with tawglobal-dot-com which was created in 2004, but shows even less traffic. Just a little timid of sites I never heard of before.

My Stuff:
Sam HL67A750 and Pan BDT-350 / HL61A750 and BDT-210
Viewsonic PGD-150 / IO system glasses & IR emitter / 3DTVcorp Gen2 emiter / x102 blue. *SSG1000
IR and DLP Link together :)

Yes, I did order it from their site. I got a shipping notification the next day and had my adapter in like 4 days after ordering. Seemed professional to me. Hope that helps.

Thanks! There is an eBay store front as well. 3200+ reviews (90%+ positive) and rated top seller. So that is good as well

May be the way to go. Buying the whole kit for $480+ and selling glasses for about $90 (price I found today googling) will not get you aywhere near the the $250. If you do eBay you have to pay those 'small' percentages off what you sell it for, so it's a gamble to try and get to the $250 or less IMHO.

It seems Tru3D is now selling the adapter without the Geffen Detective. They probably flashed the adapter because I don't think it's the 3dc-100s model. Has anyone tried this yet? It's only $179 + SH.

So the Tru3D solution for $179 is way cheaper than the $450 3DC-100S and also works on Samsung DLPs??

This is great news!! Can anyone confirm that the Tru3D is a "good and reliable" solution?

it is cheaper becuse thay take out the 3d glasses and the 3d emter out the box and resale them. the 3d emter cost 135.95 if you need one. or buy the full kit for 450.00.

comes with one 1.4 cable so you need to buy one and the ps3 looks better on the dlp with 1.4 cables
i was playing killzone 3 in 3d on my ps3

No, they DO NOT use the 3DC-100s. They are using a 3DA-1/3DC-1000 which you can buy for about $90. They are flashing this model with the Samsung EDID so that you can have 3D pass through on older receivers, which they say will not work for the 3DC-100S. Still, $90 for the flash job isn't too bad compared to the kit that Mits makes you buy.
I am just about ready to buy one and I don't know if Mits is going to release one without all the extra stuff I already have.
