Was I mistaken from CES coverage that the Samsung QWERTY remote that comes with the D-series televisions is INcompatible with this year's D-series 3D Blu-Ray players?

The numeric side of my remote has no problem working with my player, but the QWERTY side, which is paired-up and works fine with the television, doesn't register with the DVD player. Stuck doing text entry with the numeric keypad, a bit of a bummer.

it likely controls the BD player via IR, but is paired via BT for keyboard functionality on the TV. Even if you could pair it to the BD player, you can only pair to one thing at a time ...

Ah! So that's where the requirement to pair the remote comes in to play. Gotcha. Damn shame, though I believe the only thing missing on the TV that I'll be using on the BD is Pandora. But still...
