i was asking here and it looks like im sol when i play 3D content and i only have a receiver that is 1.3 HDMI (will only play 2 channel audio when on 3d). is this correct?? or is there a workaround.

on one of the threads here, they suggested on a PS3 to change output to bitstream?! (is this an option on the S570?)

am i stuck just playing 2 channel audio while playing 3D content??

any advice on how to best connect these components appreciated:

panasonic plasma PN51d6500
Sony S570 3D BR player
onkyo 605 Receiver
DISH 722K sattelite box

Well at least you could use an optical connection to carry DD5.1 from the player to the receiver. You might have to tell the player in its menu somewhere to not send the audio through HDMI but to use the optical digital connection instead. That won't give you lossless audio, but it will still be good surround sound.

For what it is worth. You could just try it first. Just because your receiver is 1.3 does not automatically mean it won't pass 3D.

But, if all else fails, run the HDMI directly to the TV, or see if you can return the BD player for the twin HDMI version.

By the way, the Panasonic BDT310 is a twin HDMI player.

I use a Sony BDP-BX57 (BDP-S570 equivilent) for my 3D bluray player.
The video is connected to an Optoma 3d-XL box, then from the box to an Optoma HD66 projector.
I am using optical out for 5.1. Everything seems to be working without any problems.
You might double check your audio menu options again just to be sure.

I am also using a Panasonic DMP-BD55 for 2D bluray that has analog outs for lossless 7.1
