I am still looking at buying a Sony DEV 3 or 5, they can shoot 3D in AVCHD 2.0 60p and I believe can also shoot at 24p as well (I hope)

I am wondering if Vegas can handle rendering a AVCHD 2.0 3D video and if so how? I know they will only play at the moment in Sony 3DBD players correct?

Also curious why many wanna shoot in 24p when 60p is so much better at getting smooth motion?

3D items I own:

Sony 46" LX900 active 3D set

Sony HMZ-T3 (Cushion pads and light blocker mod)

LG LW6500 passive 3D set

PS3 & PS4

Sony BDP-S570 BD3D player

JVC-GS-TD1 (with Cyclopital base extender)

Fujifilm W3

Sony Alpha 55 (for 3D panoramic photos)

Quadcopter + Zenmuse and GoPro Hero 3 (Filming...

I think I answered my own question and it can not at the moment.

One more question, some review sites claim the DEV 3 and 5 from Sony can shoot 3D at 24p, however the Sony sites don't seem to say this, they say

•Video Format : 3D HD: MPEG4-MVC/ H.264 AVCHD 2.0 format compatible (1080/60i); 2D HD:MPEG4-AVC/H.264 AVCHD™ format ver.2.0 compatible (1080/60p/60i original format)
•Video Mode : 3D HD: Approx. 28Mbps; 2D HD PS: Approx. 28Mbps, FX: Approx. 24Mbps, FH: Approx. 17Mbps, HQ: Approx. 9Mbps, LP: Approx. 5Mbps
•Video Resolution : 3D HD: 2x 1920x1080/60i; 2D HD: 1920x1080/60p (PS), 1920x1080/60i (FX,FH), 1440x1080/60i (HQ,LP)

So I am quite confused if I can shoot 3D at 24p with one of these?!

3D items I own:

Sony 46" LX900 active 3D set

Sony HMZ-T3 (Cushion pads and light blocker mod)

LG LW6500 passive 3D set

PS3 & PS4

Sony BDP-S570 BD3D player

As far as I understand the specs, for 3D it will be 1080 60i (NTSC) or 1080 50i only - so no 1080 24p for 3D.

24p is for 2D only.

Kind regards,
Wolfgang

Notable fixes/changes in version 11.0 (Build 510/511)
Updated Sony AVC format render template customization to support AVCHD 2.0.

Still no " MVC 1920x1080-60i, 25 Mbps video stream " template

I think you will not get that. At least not until the Blu Ray consortia defines 1080 50i/60i für BD...

Even if I think that 1080 50i/60i would be great for 3D-BD, but SCS focus itself to what is supported officially for 3D-BDs.

I assume that Cyberlink with the PD10 may be come up with an AVCHD 2.0 solution in terms of BDAV structures for 3D BDs more likely then SCS. Maybe...

Kind regards,
Wolfgang

Spec wise the lenses and zoom are identical 34.4mm - 344mm 3D (35mm equivalent) between the DEV 3 and the TD10. Just seems to be the form factor, size and ergonomics where the differences lie - Videos should look identical. I had a TD10 for a week, sent it back, sync glitches and drop outs every now and again - May have been that individual unit, but it put me off. Settled on a JVC HMZ1 - sharper picture and 24P though 3D zoom is only 44.8mm - 224mm 3D (35mm equivalent).

In this update there's only an template for Sony AVC for AVCHD2.0 and not MVC.
As their PMB 5.8 support that, I don't understant why they do not include this !
