I have a question regarding the 2D to 3D upconverting feature in some 3D blu-ray players. What is the point of having this in the blu-ray player? Don't you need a 3D TV anyways to watch 3D? So if your 3D TV already has 2D to 3D upconverting feature why do they even bother including this feature in the blu-ray player?

Because not all displays have 2D->3D conversion and some that do are absolutely horrible, i.e. Sony displays.
