I bought an Optoma HD33 3D projector and I wanna stream my ripped 3D movies to the projector but I'm not sure if it will work. I haven't received the projector yet. still in the mail. I plan on using CyberLink PowerDVD 11 to play the files, just not sure if it will work. When I play them now on my non 3D monitor, all I get is the sbs image which I understand. I guess I'm curios to see if I need to update my graphics card or anything like that. Thank You...

Hi.

Basically the hd33 would need to interpret your pc's sbs output. Pretty sure it could deal with an incoming sbs source - you might have to tell it to via a menu or somethjng.. In theory it would not really see your pc as a pc but rather as just another source. If you have an nvidia graphics card you might have to use the 3dtv play functionality that's built into the driver so the pc just deals with the hd33 like it would a 3dtv. There are display and file interpretation settings in powerdvd as well but you will probably have to wait for your optoma to arrive and see what display options are available once you connect it. Perhaps give us an idea of what video card you have now? (though i really only have an idea about nvidia's personally)

TK421 why aren't you at your post?.......TK421 do you copy?

Hi.. Thanx for the reply. I believe I have the Intel HD Graphics 2000 that came with my PC and an i7 processor. Just bought it about a month ago. when I go into the card properties, there are settings and options for 3D. It just seams like it would work because like you said the projector would recognize it as a 'source'. My non 3D screen now plays the files just fine (no lag or slow mo). It just shows it with sbs images. I'm just hoping the proj will recognize 3D and display it properly. I should get the projector on Wednesday so I'll try it and post back the results for anyone else that was curios about this. Thanx again TK421..

If you have intel second generation i7-2100 you won't need any video card for 3d because this processor has a blu ray 3d support

Thanx sars, I actually have the intel i7-2600 and I remember seeing something about 3D support but I thought I would still need a stronger graphics card on top of that. Well, my projector should be here tomorrow so I guess I'll wait and see...

Hello Guys

My current Pc spec is here

Is use Giganews / Sickbeard / CouchPotato to get my movies and TV.
I have noticed a large selection of 3D movies available.

I use a Sanyo PLV-700 which I love the quality is great in 1080 and I like the projector but I know it cannot do 3D

I want to know with my current PC spec can I stream 3D Movies from my PC direct to a 3D Projector?

Can you recommend a decent projector (nothing stupid in price) as I will only watch a few a week at the most I guess.

ALso what is the process from the PC side do I need specialist software ? ANybody got a link or advice please on setting up the PC.

Cheers Thorrrr

I am looking to get a Benq W1070 and feed it from a dual AMD computer running a ATI/AMD/MSI R5450 video card with I gig memory and it has a HDMI output.

Question is will I be able to play streaming 3D movies on this setup??

Thanks in advance.

Rich

OK I got my answer: NO.

Well not well, A) streaming 3D movies in hard. B) computer software for 3D is dicey C) A 3D DVD will play better and last D) Rental DVDs will play much better.

I too have a BENQ 1070 which should play 3D movies but I am using a WD TV Live box to stream from my computer. I don't think this supports 3D at present so can you suggest something that does?
Thanks
(I also have a jailbroken Apple TV which I've heard may work but haven't tried it yet)
