My first attempt at setting up a new Panasonic TC-P55VT30 3DTV and Denon AVR-1912 with existing PS3 (slim - update current) was unsuccessful. Before I reset the AVR-1912 and start from scratch with batpig's FAQ, I'd like to know if others with similar setup are able to pass 3D bluray content thru the AVR-1912 to the 3DTV, or if I must bypass and go straight from the PS3 to the 3DTV.
This was my initial setup:
PS3 > AVR-1912 (2FT 24AWG high speed mono price HDMI)
Directv HR22-100 > AVR-1912 (2FT 24AWG high speed mono price HDMI)
AVR-1912 > Kinivo HS420 4x2 HDMI matrix (2FT 24AWG high speed mono price HDMI)
Kinivo HS420 4x2 HDMI matrix > Panasonic TC-P55VT30 3DTV (25FT 22AWG high speed mono price HDMI)
Kinivo HS420 4x2 HDMI matrix > Sony KDL-40XBR2 (40FT 24AWG standard speed mono price HDMI)
This worked fine until I popped in my first 3D blurry (Nightmare Before Xmas), and got the message that my display was not compatible (can't remember the exact wording). I did a search and learned that I needed to do an initial setup directly between the PS3 and the 3DTV. This worked and I continued to watch the movie.
When I switched back to my original setup, the 3D bluray again would not recognize my 3DTV as compatible. So, I took the HDMI matrix out of the equation and tried again. No dice. Then, I went back to plugging the PS3 directly to the 3DTV. WTF? Still no dice. I'm frustrated.
My next step, after reading batpig's Denon FAQ, is to reset the AVR-1912 and start over from scratch. However, if others know that 3D bluray playback is not possible from the PS3 > AVR-1912 > Panasonic TC-P55VT30, then I won't bother.
Please also note that the Sony Sony KDL-40XBR2 was always turned off and/or not connected when troubleshooting.
I would really appreciate anyone's incite. I've gone through so many threads and tried countless google searches. Either I'm not searching for the right thing, or my problem isn't very common.
I listen to everything, I just don't say anything.
