Iam looking to upgrade to a newer blu-ray player. Its gona be connected to a epson 8350 projector and a 55' inch LCD via HDMI splitter. I'am finding that most new reputable players are all 3d. Just need to clearify if I buy a 3d player will it work well with my regular 2d blu-ray and standard dvd's.

Any recommendtions for a decent player under $200. Reciever is denon 2112CI

So far i'am leaning towards pioneer and samsung,

Yes. All players are backwards compatible. Check both user threads. Samsung has a history of just being unreliable (nicest way I can put it). Pioneer hasn't fared well either. You might consider the new Panasonic line or perhaps the new Sony.

Samsung UBD-K8500, Panasonic DMP-UB900 -> Yamaha CX-A5100 -> Sony XBR-75X940C; Mediabridge 6' and 15' HDMI cables.
