As a video layman I have searched, but not found a solution for my problem. Sorry if something similar has been answered before.

I have some 500 *.mts video files, recorded in FullHD 3D MVC with a Sony TD10 camcorder (PAL).

Unfortunately I can get them to play via my PS3 only in 2D. This is regardless to whether I give these files directly to my PS3 with an USB stick, or whether I stream them from my Mac using a server (PMS). In both cases they play fine on my LG 3D TV attached to the PS3, but only in 2D.

I know that I can burn 3D Bluray discs from MTS files, but with my 500 files this is not a really feasible solution.

Is there any possibility to solve my problem? Thanks for any support.

On my pc I use PlayMemories. It plays the MTS default in 3D. Can you try PlayMemories on the PS3? It would answer a question I have.

As I understood it, PlayMemories is an online service. You upload your video files with Sony support, and then PlayMemories cares for the eventual downstreaming, converting them on-the-fly to whatever format your local device requires.

Unfortunately this does not solve my problem: I want to keep my videos in 3D FullHD. With the TD10's MVC coding this is at a bit rate of 26 MBit/sec, which is not feasible for my network. Furthermore I want to keep my files local, e.g. for when I edit them, use non-Sony *mts files, or whatever.

So until someone tells me a way to feed my PS3 with an mts file (without first embedding it into a Bluray structure or into an an AVCHD structure), I see my chances dim with every hour progressing without a hint...

I just installed PlayMemories PS3. Unfortunately when using a menu point to copy "images" (there is no alternative) from the USB stick to the PS3-internal disk, then I get sort of an "image access error" message (in German)

Can't help with the PS3. Instead, I play 3D*.mts files from a Panasonic SDT-750 on a WD Live Streaming Video Player. My Sony TV has to be manually switched to 3D or I see the side-by-side.
