Now, with Cyberlink PD11 owners of Sony TD10(20) at last can produce AVCHD 2.0 3D 1080 60(50)i with menus and subtitles.
The quality of rendered video (AVC MVC 1080 50i 24 mbit) is good enough, it's hard to see difference with the source files from TD10E, no judder at all.
It's a bit disappointingly, that PD11 when producing AVCHD disk, doesn't allow you to use SVRT (smart rendering) or higher bitrate (as it is possible when producing standalone 3D MVC file).
But the most disappointing for me, that I was not able to play produced disk with PowerDVD12 (with Nvidia 3D vision and 120Hz display) in 3D mode:
the separate files in Stream folder are played in real 3D with objects getting out of the screen, but when plaing disk structure, 3D is switch on, but the same files are looking as if 2D to 3D simulation.
Moreover I can play TD10 source files in real 3D mode only with PowerDVD 12 build 1618. In later releases (1905 & 2118) 3D 50i files doesn't play correctly, while 3D 24P or HSBS are played good.
May be somebody had faced such problems with PowerDVD?

The second question is about hardware player,
I have Realtek 1186 based player and LG 3D BD player and both of them doesn't play AVCHD 2.0 3D 1080 60(50)i files or structures in 3D mode.
It was mentioned in this forum, that some Sony players are able to play AVCHD 2.0 3D 1080 60(50)i files, but what about AVCHD structure wih menus?

I think there are two tools only, that will allow to generate multisteam AVCHD 3D/2.0 strutures with 1080 50i/60i - that is the PD11 but also Pinnacle Studio 16. Both tools fail far behind both Edius and Vegas in terms of overall editing capabilities - to my opinion. That is why I have not continued to test the authoring capabilities - and if they run fine with AVCHD 2.0 capable Blu-ray players.

There is no other application that can create AVCHD 2.0/3D based multistream BDs - for 2D there would also be Tempgenc authoring, but not for 3D as far as I understand their product.

The Realtec chip is able to playback MVC-based 3D-Blu-rays - but not multistream AVCHD 3D based structures in s3D.

Kind regards,
Wolfgang

I don't think msv6001 was asking about the creation of the content so much as what can be used to play it. I have the same question and we are in the 2nd half of 2013. Surely there must be a player by now that can play this content? Does anyone have any updates?

Thanks for your time,
Ian

WHAT ABOUT DISPLAY GUYS? Lets suppose we edited Sony's or JVC's 1080i frame packed videos without compromising from quality, and created a AVCHD 3D FRAME PACKED 1080 60i disc and our bluray player supports it! Then what about TVs and Projectors? As far as I know, most active shutter 3d TVs and latest 3D projectos including Benq's and Optoma's (consumer models) DOES NOT SUPPORT THIS RESOLUTION? Am I wrong? What kind of displays support AVCHD 3D 1080 frame packed 60fps interlaced videos? Thanks
