Stabilizing the Bloggie 3D with a 3-axis gimbal

One of the biggest issues with the Sony Bloggie 3D is that the camera is not stabilized, resulting in shaky 3D video. There is a new technology - handheld 3-axis digital stabilizers, with brushless motors and built-in gyroscope, that enable automatic balancing and not only stabilize but allow moving. These are light, small and cheap - enabling smoother handheld video.

They are designed for smartphones, as they have clamp for the phone, giving you access to the back controls. But a 3D Bloggie fits perfectly and has all the controls in the back, like a cellphone (but not touchscreen).

Here is an initial 3D test video (first time use with the Bloggie). All of the shots were made with one hand. Balance (by the device) took 3-seconds:

The stabilizer I used is the ikan X3: http://ikancorp.com/productdetail.php?id=979
