I use RC0 hex plates which work with my 3063 heads. I need to pick up some more flush mount plates. I like the quick release plates, just leave on camera but I can't do that with my AX100's when I have it on 3D rig. But I can take the slider plates off those with not much trouble if I need to mount up for 2D projects.
I think I saw that slider on ebay or one similar to it when I was looking for a cinema slider a few years ago. I had this 36" inch bar left over from my Gem utility bed build so I put it to use. Attached same baseplate as the small rig so it's just unhook from small rig and move to large rig.
That slider bar looks like a good use for SbS rig. On mine, not using the tripod mounts on each camera, but have one on small rig so the whole thing can go on a tripod, and same with this rig, hex plate in middle.
Basically, made rig this way so it can go from small to wide rig without changing setup. Will have to do some testing to see how alignment goes. May have to make some adjustments later.
I've posted these before, but below showing small rig.
Not that this was that complicated, but my Al sheet metal skills are coming back to use from Cessna days before I got laid-off, so it wasn't a waste after all!
Used to work in the forward cabin of XLS+ aircraft. But if I make a mistake here I don't have to tell anyone, lol.
