You're probably correct, as both the Samsung and Mits DLPs require HDMI for 3D.

Currently testing 3D with Sammy DLP, shutter glasses, and HTPC

I have the same setup, Optoma HD66 + xpand x102 + Radeon hd5850
This is the only way I got it working, I got 2 pair of glasses yesterday:
You have to connect your computer directly to the PJ via HDMI, I had my receiver in between and didn't work, also connected the PJ via VGA cable to the computer, but got the edid screwed, so, easier way, hdmi. Set your PJ as the primary display, disable the other displays if possible, set resolution to 1280x720@120hz, set 3d to on in the PJ, get the IZ3d latest beta (1.11B2 released today) and set directx in shutter or 120hz projector modes.
TEST
Also, I got Stereoscopic Player (SP) to work in page flipping mode full screen, obviously with some 3d trailers you can get on the web or in the SP web site.

I hope it helps, an extra pair of batteries would be fine also

Does anyone have the inside scoop on what is going on with the ETA of the Sharp x102's? The ETA was early May, but has since been pushed back on a weekly basis by one week at a time and is currently been pushed back to 6/09/10 or 6/10/10 depending on which distributor you look at.

This is almost like it was back in February/March when XpanD kept saying....next month and then pushing it back every month. They must be having problems with their new plant or maybe all their resources are tied up in their x101's and the launch of the x103's.

Looks like the x102's just might be a rare commodity again, better get them from Tru3D while you can. June 11th is just around the corner....

maybe the reason is they might be suppling mitsubishis 3dc-1000 kit with them. but it is just a thought.

X102's are in stock at Xpand's website. Don't have enough posts so I'm not allowed to post the URL.

Yes, but they used to be $149 plus shipping, which means the price has dropped, and other stores may now discount them even further.

Nice to see the price drop then. I was almost ready to pull the trigger on one, but $151ish or so was just a bit high for me. Funny how twenty bucks can make a difference sometimes Granted, if I had a 3D Blu-Ray movie to watch I'd have ordered.

I put an order in for one of these but I have to ask; is this Viewsonic vaporware? Its June now and these were supposed to be shipping in April. The Viewsonic website has all sorts of nice info on these, including a full PDF user guide. But nowhere is there any indication when these will actually ship.

ShopBLT shows they are coming in the 9th and the 19th. However, their dates for the Xpand x102's have been slipping everyweek so the date is not 100% firm.

according to the Xpand website under news, they have released a new version 102. The old version has the letter "X" on the side. The new version says "Xpand" printed out. I wonder if some of the old ones are the versions being discounted.

I e-mailed seller, and there is now a pic showing they are the new version. And the price has dropped. Tempting!

I have a pair of the old version and a pair of the new version. No performance difference as far as I can tell. You should ask what the batch# is. There have been problems with the X102SUBB's. The X102SUD's should be fine though.

Those ebay glasses don't have the battery tool--and XpanD doesn't list the tool separately
(although I might be willing to sell one of mine).

We are working furiously trying to get an answer for everyone here. No one really seems to know the answer to that question unfortunately. When we find out, this forum will be the first to know.
