Sorry guys I dont know if this is the right place to post this, but I just bought a Sony bravia KDL55EX720 tv and was looking to play 3d content on this TV.
It has built in 3d transmitter and was trying to use the side by side option to see some 3d effect into videos. But unfortunately I cannot find that option in there in the 3 d menu. It just shows simulated 3 d and off option. It doesnt show side by side option.
Can you guys help me in this.

thanks

Anshul

I just spoke with the customer care and they said, that the side by side option is only available through HDMI input and bot with any other input. Is that right????
shouldnt it be available with USB input or online videos???

Any one have any thoughts about this...

I created a term for this type of thing.
I call it Option Free 3D

Did IQ's suddenly drop sharply while I was away?
I enjoy 3D in spite of HDMI 1.4!
Full screen only 3D doesn't cut it!

Ha ha Option free 3d sounds interesting, but its frustrating for me. Have been trying to get a way out of this thing for 2-3 days now with no results and wasted so much time and money on this TV.
No side by side option to see the 3d pictures..

You could always trade it for a Samsung.
Samsungs support just about every 3D mode known to mankind if hooked to a computer.

I have a Sony HX800 and have the same problem when trying to view 3D content online. The only way around it is to use my PS3 or BD to stream the video and them pass the side-by-side image to the TV via HDMI cable. If I use the TV to directly stream the content then it won't recognize the 3D signal.

It's absolutely ridiculous that the Sony TV can't recognize side-by-side when receiving the signal directly from the internet, but has no problem recognizing it if I send the same signal to the TV via HDMI from a secondary device.
