I can verify that you need an incoming signal for it to power up. It will not show power without an input signal.

Needs to be plugged into the tv for it to light up I think. Not home to try, but that's what I recall.

This thread is awesome...I had the original Tru3D kit with the early date (I guess that company is long gone now), and didn't even have my Samsung 61" LED DLP hooked up for over a year. I did a big remodel, which included adding video matrixing. Of course I couldn't get anything to work with the Geffen piece. Once I found this thread and did the workaround, DirecTV and Roku 3D content work great.

What is the current verdict on DLP-Link glasses? Monoprice sells a set, and there are low cost options on Amazon. I have a set of Xpand and Optima but would like to add a few more.
