got it - when I first hooked it up to a blu-ray player there was a a scan or dividing line going across the screen and about 1/6 of the way down which appeared to offset that portion by a pixel or two. There was a pause in use when I had the flu. When I hooked it up yesterday to my pc, the line is gone and it really looks very good. Did it interfere with my 3D Bee or something else in proximity? - If it behaves then I'd say its a nice unit. I've looked at it today for at 10 hours at various still images, Youtube videos, etc. with my E3D420VX tv. It does output blue-amber for use with 2D sets.

Can you check whether it outputs half Side-by-Side in 1080p ?

I don't get a split side by side picture display with the tv in 2D mode as with Vefxi's 3D BEe but the TV says SBS 1080p when this device is switched to 3D.

Your TV may have a setting to not convert SBS to 3D automatically. But it looks like the unit is sending SBS in 1080p as advertised.

for its low cost this converter does pretty well and there's some decent 3D effect on still images.

http://www.aliexpress.com/product-fm...olesalers.html

I don't have a 3d DLP Projector, so just use it with my Panasonic Plasma 50V20, and with my FULLHD Videoprojector Mitsubishi HC3200 (Similar to HC3800).

I only try this device outputing amber/blue anaglyph.

First impressions:

2D - 3D conversion - You dont get strong deph like a native 3D material, but we get some fair results.
3D SBS converted to anaglyph amber/blue - Fantastic Deph,( You see things floating in your room) and the most incredible is the color reproduction, (Almost full color), is not comparable to red/cyan.
The picture is dark but you only have to push up the contrast and brightness of your display.
If you have a bright Projector, you will love this small device.
I bought it in aliexpress site (OSPIC seller), 78$ shipping included, and take only 11 days to have it (Portugal). The seller "OSPIC" is very kind and give a fantastic support.

Some questions :
- Does it take a 1080i input (say Directv) and output 1080p SBS ?
- How about 1080p input from PC ?

Even though you can't see 3D, you shoudl be able to see SBS image.

edit : The link you gave is good, it has more info too. I've ordered one - hope it works.

Interesting - jus $64 (shipping?).

I should get this in a week or 2 - I'll compare this with Power DVD 2D to 3D converter and let every know how well this works.

Can you input some 2D movies from a DVD player at 1080p and report on the 3D quality (not anaglyph) with this converter compared with the Bee? Check on the 3D depth and realism. Trying to judge if the Bee is worth the extra bucks in price.

Thanks

if your projector is not 3d ready you would have to use the anaglyph glasses, you couldn't use the dlp-link active shutter glasses.Somebody correct me if I'm wrong though.

I think you can.
My DLP 3800 mitsubishi is not a 3d ready Projector too, so i use this device with the amber/blue glasses. The active shutter glasses are only for 3d ready VP.
This device can be used with all type of displays with HDMI.
I have very nice 3D (With SBS HALF sources) using amber/blue glasses with my 92" screen and my projector.
I think is a very nice investiment for the price.

Do they include the amber blue glasses in the package?

Yes, the converter come with 2 pairs of glasses (2 amber/blue or 1 pair amber/blue + red/red cyan). You have to choose (Chat with the seller)
I bought the converter with 4 Pairs amber blue (In the OSPIC shop on the ALIEXPRESS site, it takes 10 days to came to me, they are very kind). They puted them in the same package. The amber/blue glasses give you nice real colors. With the red/cyan glasses you get 3D, but no colors.

I read that it will come soon the 2nd. generation with support for PS3 3D games (Convert 3D native games to anaglyph or 3D DLP).

Its your choice, but for the price i dont see nothing more.

I have recently purchased an Ry-V3d converter, from China. I hooked witht my Pioneer TV and I managed to watch 3d programmes on my 2d Tv. The picture was perfect but the problem was the colour. I could not get a nice picture as the colours were mainly Yellowish or green. I am using the Red/cyan glasses the other pair are useless as the picture is very dark with them. My question is, if any one can help me, can i improve the col ours, I tried to adjust colours, contrast, tint etc but to no avail.

Thanks

zizu1947;

do a google search for anachrome analglyph glasses.... i've heard they might provide a slight improvement.

what are the 'other' glasses? ...must be the blue & amber lenses.

Hi pb_Maxxx,

Thanks for your early reply.

Please note that when I purchased the Ry-v3d it also included to pairs of glasses namely a Red/Cyan one and an Amber/Blue. When i use the unit through my Dreambox 500hd, I get perfect 3d images but the colours are hopeless. I tried the Dynamic picture mode on my Pioneer pdp-436sxe, but to no avail. When i use th e Amber/Blue one the picture becomes very dark and you cannot really follow what is going on. I went on google and the glasses i found are the same as i was sent with the Converter. I think i have to dig deep and go for a proper 3d TV. Mind you the 3d content is very good, only the colours are useless. Perhaps I am doing something wrong from my side.

Hi pb_Maxxx,

Are the Anachrome analglyph glasses different from Red/Cyan or Blue/Amber glasses. Sorry forgot to ask you this in my previous post.

Thanks again.

basically the problem is the glasses are only 2 colors... 1 color for each eye... and at the very least 1/3 of the color is then lost... and that a VERY laymen's explaination.

couple that with... some anaglyph films and/or converter are geared towards glasses with certain color lenses... like magenta/green (basically combining two colors to each eye). so with anaglyph you have a whole host of possible color issues to deal with. you basically need to have a whole family of different colored glasses to try on for each movie. lol. then you have to label each dvd with the glasses that work best for that movie

if you want to know a little more about anachrome anaglyph then go to anachrome.com

I only use the amber/blue glasses, the color is very good. To avoid the darkness, i usualy improve the brightness and gamma on my display or in the media player and i get good results with that. I saw RIO in sbs and its fantastic. The results are better (more bright and natural picture) with my VP than in my Panny V20.

Thank you guys for your replies. I have tried to increase gamma and brightness on my tv and experienced some improvement. I think i will invest in a new 3d tv, as the result is not to my satisfaction. Perhaps my tv, being 5 years old is no longer up to standard.

claudia5;

what vivitek pj model do you have and what chinese converter did you get?
since your vivitek is just a 2nd model... you're stuck with anaglyph.
if the converter is working properly you should be getting video outlined in red one side and blue on the other... requiring the use of red/blue, green/magenta, or blue/amber glasses to see 3d. best of luck.
