3DTVCorp has new style DLP Link glasses that are rechargeable. Has anyone tried them - and if so could you compare to the old non-rechargeable ones that look like Ultra Clear glasses ? They are about the same price.

new :

ebay item : 160560023321

ebay item : 150638277882

old :

ebay item : 150664959484

These new ones have the receptor at the middle, unlike the old ones that have it on a side. These also have a "Unique Polarity Reversal Button" that would be very useful.

One big problem is - they are white ! I've sent a message asking whether we can get the black ones. Currently the black ones are only available in large batches.

What type of TV set or projector do you have (make/model)?

I know personally I am interested in seeing if these show on screen polarization rainbows like all other DLP lens I've used and if it blocks the DLP Link tint (are blacks actually black or tinted red).

Weight and comfort are also a concern, as is the amount of glare on the lens (can you see everything going on behind you).

Otherwise I'll stick with the Ultra Clear ones. I look forward to your review!

Well, all these glasses are made in China by some OEM and gets sold under various brands/names by various US vendors.

Even if you can't compare - how well do these glasses work, as such ? How big are they ?

I purchased a pair of these from Consignia, ( Jay just got them In and has not updated the web site to indicate them) and they work great with my HD33 projector. No ghosting, nice clear picture, and only $64.99 will most likely get a few more pairs... they came with the charge cable, and little cloth case, and cleaning cloth... fit over my glasses no problem.

Thanks. How big are the temples - can't make out from the picture. Are they wide like the old glasses ?

I'm still trying to figure out whether to get the old wider non-rechargeable glasses or the new ones - I've asked them to put my order on hold, till I can figure this out.

Can you put the glasses on a piece of white A4 paper and check if the glasses had a green tint?

Here is the web site of Futurecinema they are like the one's I own.
http://www.future3dcinema.com/

For the green tint, yes they have some. I dont know if the pic is good enough to give you an idea. They are about 6.5" exterior wide.

I just watched Green Hornet with my HD33 and theses glasses. One pair work flawless and the other one start flickering red/black/green after a while. Do you think it could be a power issue? Since they dont come with a manual/booklet I can't read anything about troubleshooting. I'll try to charge them all night long to see if they still do the same tomorrow.

From the photo, the glasses look like it had the same green tint as UC. Not a big deal if you have the equipment to tune in the greyscale to compensate for the green tint.

Don't forget the tint is green by design. The opposite color of the Green hue is Pink/ Redish.

Alot of display's/dlp's etc. have a pink tint while in 3d mode. To counter this pink/redish hue we need greenish and or grey tinted glasses.

As time goes on it's seems us consumers seem to prefer the Grey tint over the green. Is this because the tv's are none pink 3d mode tv's ? I don't know...

my 2009 plasma has the pink hue, and if i remove too much of the pink/redish hues, my glasses will show to much green hue. i plan to get some non green tint specs to do some tests.

I wish i had some crystal eyes, bit cauldron and a few pairs of different generics, to test all this stuff out, TV tint vs tint color quality etc.

I had a DLP projector and no pink/redish hues. I think some DLP TV and Optoma HD33 projector is using red flash. But my understanding red flash or white flash should be block by DLP link glasses as it use the flash as sync.

I feel that from PQ point of view, Optoma ZD201 is a better 3D glasses compare to UC DLP. I need to smooth the edge of the arm using sand paper and now it is as comfortable as UC DLP glasses.

I bought a pair of these glasses. They seem to work fine with my Mitsu DLP TV but they won't stay on with my Optoma HD 3300 DLP projector. Any ideas why? The Ultraclear DLP glasses I have work fine with both. With the projector, they flash a couple of times when I turn them on, then go dead.

I just bought 5 pairs for my HD3300. One pair works flawlessly, beautiful picture. One pair flickers practically causing a seizure, and 3 pairs don't even seem to turn on. Gonna return 'em. BTW got them from 3DTV store on ebay.

3DTV store has excellent service. When I had a problem the owner was very quick to help me out, and replied to all my emails very quickly. Sucks that they all didn't work flawlessly.

Haven't tried those, but almost every other brand, and here are the new ones I finally settled on. They have everything you're looking for. They're rechargeable, foldable, rubber arms and nose pieces, receiver in the middle, awesome visual quality. They're just perfect, you can't go wrong with these new True Depth 3D glasses.

I got 2 pairs - they work well with blu-ray played through my HTPC and for DirecTV. But SBS played thr' the HTPC gives a lot of flickering.

I'm going to return these and try different glasses.

I did buy these unbranded direct from a chinese seller .. and they are back with him for a refund ..

Utterly useless to have a rich 3D experience, my observations were:
- too green tinted, all the white scenes were greenish!
- not enough contrast, all blacks were greyish in appearance
- transmittance, too high, in 3D mode the projector is already in bright mode, these glasses were letting too much light through making it too bright. If i turn the brightness down, the original 3D glasses would become too dark. It still didn't fix the problem that everything black was appearing grey.
- Occasional unsync, but that is really angle/movement dependent

Anyways, i prefer the grey tint as my projected image is not pinkish .. so i don't need everything to be green!
