Just purchased 42 VIZIO 3D LED smart (DUMBTV).. anyhow
The 3d plays fine watching online VUDU through telvision . I pressed 3d sensio function on television remote
how ever when trying to play 3d game thru playstation when I press 3d sensio button the images overlap and are zoomed in: imagine this box is the tv screen [io viz] but the v and o are on top of each other. Called Vizio they said go buy hdmi 1.4 which I did but still doing same thing.
what am I doing wrong?

I'm not too familiar with sensio but from what I've read online it seems that this is a proprietary 3d codec so the material needs to be encoded with sensio to be able to be played back in 3D with this codec.

There was something about sensio autodetect feature on the wiki page about sensio. When I put in a 3d game into my ps3, I usually have to select 3d from the game menu and my tv (not sensio) autodetects it the same as with blurays.

If you can select sbs, tnb, checkerboard etc then you do not have Sensio autodetect and maybe you need to select the correct format from a menu, in this case I think you'd be looking for frame sequential. But this format should be autodetected with most tvs (I haven't seen a 3d tv that doesn't autodetect frame sequential).

From what you describe it seems like your tv is processing the image as SBS (thus the screwy overlap) when the image should be frame sequential from the ps3.

I thought that the PS3 with current firmware is capable of the HDMI 1.4 packed double frame 3D format using the 2025x1080 buffer format and it works fine with a quality HDMI 1.3 cable.

Crosstalk = certain objects have double images.

Not sure why you would need to select Sensio when playing PS3 games. The TV should automatically detect the 3D game in 99% of the cases.

The Sensio option is used for 3D content that has been encoded in the Sensio format. Sensio is a proprietary 3D format that enables the broadcast of near blu-ray quality 3D over cable/internet. As of today there is very little available in Sensio format, however Sensio's 3DGo VOD service is set to launch in the spring with 60-100 titles in 2012.
