I've done a little searching and it seems like only the RealD has lots of aftermarket options that can be purchased.

My local theaters use Dolby Digital 3D and I'd like to get my own set of glasses that are actually comfortable and not "pre-scratched".

But I'm having a hard time finding anything online to purchase except the annoying, uncomfortable ones that they supply in the theaters. I really would love to find something that doesn't look like I'm a 90 year old man.

Any good sources or insight?

EDIT: I'm starting to think that Dolby has cornered the market on glasses that use their technology, which is more expensive of course to make. Maybe there is NO aftermarket. :-(

Well, they're pretty much the only game in town unless I wanted to drive 40 minutes to the other side of Portland. They are used in the Cinetopia theaters I go to (that have oversized reclining chairs with footrests, adults only sections, full bar, and servers that will take your order and bring your food to you). And of course 80' screens and Atmos sound...

I just want some more comfy glasses, but I think that's probably a lost cause.

I noticed these the other day but they kinda sound like the ones you have already described but then if you wish your own pair...

Last ones on the bottom row, Dolby type polarized glasses:
