I'm new to 3D TV, I have a Mitsu wd73c10, I have a Panasonic blu ray( Checkerboard compliant), and satalite tv.
If I purchase Xpand 102 DLP link glasses, I can watch 3d blu rays, but not 3d tv, due to the format coming from the sat reciever not being checkerboard.
If I buy the 3da-1 converter, I will be able to watch 3d tv channels/movies from the sat reciever.
Is that correct?
Thanks,

Thanks, just wanted to make sure I understood the process correctly. With all the options available it can be confusing, especialy since I'm running the legacy equipment.
Can't understand why those adapters are so expensive now, they were 100 bucks when they came out.

They are expensive because they were made in limited supply by Mitsubishi. Samsung owners figured out how to hack them to use with Samsung sets. Now there is still a large demand for the adapter but the supply is all but gone, hence the price. There is a used one on ebay right now going for $25, but it has 2 days left on it. Will probably sell for $300.

Thanks for the tip, I'm watching a coupe on Ebay.
So is the 3D experience better with the DLP Link glasses vs with the polerized glasses that are offered with the newer sets? I haven't rented a 3D bluray yet, but we watched a 3D movie from Directv on the LG 3D tv we have.

DLP Link glasses and IR glasses are active 3D technology. Polarized glasses are for passive displays. I'm not into the technical mumbo jumbo but I believe that passive is half the resolution of active so the picture isn't as good.

DLP glasses will work with your televisions set, but keep in mind DLP link glasses sometimes have issues when communicating.

DLP tv's uses flashes of white light to communicate with DLP glasses, other lights or activities my disrupt sync.

Turning away from TV may cause you to lose sync, fluorescent lamps and direct sunlight may affect the sync also.

Ok, would active shutter glass with the emitter be a better purchase?
I'm just about ready to order, dlp link glasses are finally cheap enough.
