So i have downloaded a couple movies that were sbs and tried playing them through my ps3 and the movie will play but it will display double screens/ split screens. there are no settings that i can find on the ps3 to bring the two images together. same goes for the actual tv. when i switch the tv to 3d mode its still the same. So im guessing it might be the format of the file. maybe the ps3 doesnt recognize that its 3d? I really dont know. is there a format i can download where sbs image are already combined or recognized.

Your TV has options within the 3D settings menu for 3D content that is either SBS or Top/Bottom. Only the 3D format used for Blu-ray movies is designed to automatically activate the 3D mode on your TV. What is the model number of the TV do you have?

I think you will need to call Sanyo tech support. I know for a fact that the PS3 does not provide onboard controls to "combine" a SBS or a Top/Bottom signal for automatic viewing on a 3D TV. From what you've stated it would appear that your TV is only compatible with the frame-packing format used on 3D Blu-ray discs. Perhaps Sanyo could tell you whether a firmware update is available that would make it work with other types of 3D signals.

I seems your TV isn't detecting it's SBS mode and you are viewing in 2d. Play the movie then go into the Menu settings and select the 3d option then use the MODE option to select 3d manually and see how it goes.
