Mitsubishi WD-82742 TV
Marantz SR6007 AVR
PS3 IR 3D Glasses
XBMC Running on Zotac ID-83 (IvyBridge) over Ubuntu 12.04
Cheatah APHDMI10 HDMI 1.4 cables connecting everything

I have been watching HD video fine regularly for a couple months. Today I throw 3D at it for the first time and everything starts stuttering and freezing, I suspect from massive IR input to my HTPC. At times the video looks great, 3D is fine. Disable 3D on the TV and the problems goes away. Hard to tell if this should be in the 3D or the XBMC section, I figured I would start here.

Does this sound like 3D IR interference?
Any suggestions for getting 3D and remote IR to co-exist?

The easiest solution for you may be to go the route of DLP-Link glasses if you have IR interference/conflict issues.

Also, you mention when 3D is enabled you encounter problems. You may want to enable 3D but disable the internal IR to identify if IR is the issue or if it has more to do with basic 3D operation.

Last Watched 3D: Oz the Great and Powerful

It should be called Violet-Ray

The question is a little confusing. DLP chip, or DLP link. DLP CHIP is the display technology inside the projector, DLP LINK is the communication protocol between the projector 3d emitter, and the glasses. A list that might be helpful. http://www.3dmovielist.com/3dglasses.html I'm sure if you specify the brand and model of the pj, someone could help you more.
