I recently was able to trade my WD-60735 for a WD-73640 through a long journey on craigslist. I was wondering if the 640 series requires the 3Da1 adapter to be able to watch 3D. I was also wondering what the differences in the models are (besides the screen size of course). Is the 640 series an older series? Thank you in advance!

Also, the screen on the 640 has scratches on the screen. Does anyone have any experience or suggestions about how to fix these?

On the subject of scratches, I can't imagine there's much you can do that won't make it worse. Been a long time since I owned a 733/735 so I can't answer the other questions. Might check the Mits site for product info, they'll have it on both.

From the manual:
Quote:
A compatible 3D source device connected to the
TV via HDMI and outputting a 3D signal in one of
these formats:
- Frame Packing 1080p/24-Hz or 720p/60-Hz
- Top-Bottom 1080p/24-Hz or 720p/60-Hz
- Side-by-Side format, 1080p, 24/30/60-Hz;
720p, 60-Hz
- Checkerboard format, 1080p, 60-Hz; (lower resolutions may be supported but will not fill the screen)

You do not need the adapter anymore as it converts all of the formats your set supports to checkboard. You can now sell the 3DA-1 adapter as you don't need it anymore. As for the scratches, look up the parts online. You will need a replacement screen - you can find them but they aren't cheap.

Inner screen:

I imagine you only need the outer screen.

Thank you very much. I see that I can get the screen for ~260 shipped for the 73" diameter. I paid $600 for the TV so I am still trying to put money away for this. I was wondering if, for the time being, I can simply peel off the protective layer of the screen. This is probably a stupid question but I have not been able to find any information regarding this.
