Hello,

I have Benq W710st for home entertainment. My original idea was to enjoy 3D contents including blu ray media with it.

I haven't realized, but it accepts only HDMI 1.3 signal (i.e., 120 Hz frame sequential, not frame packing for standard 3D blu ray format). So I found that I cannot play 3D blu ray media with my projector, unfortunately. (well, there might be some way to play it by investing more money on additional H/W, but I'm not particularly interested in that option for now)

Since my current laptop connected to my pj is pretty old and becomes un-acceptably slow, I need new laptop anyway and this also seems good chance to have 3D BD playable capability, so I can enjoy both new fast laptop and 3D blu ray contents.

I've briefly searched around the web and found several BD laptops. So I know that there are BD playable laptops. Before I spending money on that, here is my BIG and the only question:
Are they able to make HDMI 1.3

HDMI 1.3 isn't your issue - it is playing back a 3D format that your projector will understand. My 3D HDTV is only HDMI 1.2 and only accepts checkerboard 3D. Once the image is output correctly as checkerboard the TV will play in 3D. Otherwise I need to use an adapter to convert the signals to checkerboard. I imagine you will need a PC that outputs the correct format and to not worry about the HDMI 1.3 or 1.4 issue.

What you really need is this:

or this:

Are they able to make HDMI 1.3 output for my pj from 3D blu ray media? (i.e., is there a laptop that can convert the 'frame packing' to 'frame sequential'?)
Or 3D BD is specifically designed only for HDMI 1.4 and I never can see them with my HDMI 1.3 pj no matter what kind of laptop I may buy?
If my first question is yes, would you please let me know about the model/brand?

Thank you,

.

Yeah - you are right. Thanks for your reply. My intention was to know if there is any laptop with blu ray drive & with "frame sequential format output" Since I know my projector will not accept hdmi 1.4, I kinda emphasized the hdmi 1.3 things. I didn't mean that I won't accept hdmi 1.4 machine no matter what, but indeed I will be fine as long as they can output frame sequential format; not frame packing... Easiest solution must be just buying a converter & blu ray player, as you suggested. But instead, I actually squeezed multiple goals into single machine (decent new laptop + blu ray media player + 3D video output whose format must be compatible with my hdmi 1.3 projector) in order to (probably) save some money since I need new laptop anyway. That leaves me very narrower selections (not sure such machine even exists) - that's why I'm asking here.
