New 3d TV, but no built in 2D-3D video converter!!

I got a Sony KDL42W829BBU yesterday, the 2D picture is fantastic, but it doesn't have a 2D to 3D video converter built in. Can I buy a converter box(blu-ray player/home cinema etc)? I'd like to be able to convert 2D tv from a Sky HD box(HDMI connection) into 3D

An OPPO BDP-103D player would work for you. It has 2D-to-3D conversion and also allows you to use the converter with up to two HDMI inputs. In other words, you're not restricted to using the converter with discs only. So you could connect your Sky HD box to one of the OPPO HDMI inputs and then use the converter. I do this with broadcast television. Two liabilities are 1) the OPPO is expensive (but you get what you pay for), and 2) the 2D-to-3D conversion is best at the default setting; if you push it much beyond that setting, the converted 3D looks artificial.
