Hi and thanks.
I have a phillips 8100 soundbar with DISH network HD and a Sammy plasma.
The soundbar/subwoofer has an HDMI out for the DVD portion but only an RCA (R&L) or Digital Coax for the input sound from the SAT box or TV.
I have it hooked up now with the RCA cables as both my TV and SAT only have OPTICAL digital sound outputs which obviously can not be connected to the COAX digital sound input on the soundbar.
So my question is:
Can I buy a converter box that will accept the OPTICAL sound in from the SAT box and allow for COAX sound out to the soundbar?
(hope that makes sense)...
I am assuming if I do this I will recieve a higher quality audio signals including any formatted in surruond sound?
