I am looking to replace my 5.1 system with a soundbar. The wife doesn't like the wires on the 5.1 around the room but the dogs like to chew on them.
I have a recangular room (probably 16x9) and a 58 inch Samsung Plasma.
The Systems will be on the longer wall, Right wall is the windo patio door, back wall is full, left wall lead upstairs to the kitchen (Backsplit house), so there is a bottom portion of the wall, the middle is open where the stair are, and there is an upper part of that wall (think of an oreo cookie, and the filling is the open part on that wall).
My thoughts by reading the forums are to go with the Yamana YHT-S400 or the Sony CT350.
Is there something on the market which will deliver better sound in that price range, or if I upped my price a little bit (to a better yamaha or other brands)?
I know it won't be realy surround sound, but I'm ok with that as long as it can fool my ears and delivers good sound, good bass if needed and can hear speach and dialogue.
I have a PS3, HD Cable DVR and Media Player all on HDMI. My last question to go along with the proper soundbar choices is should I hook it up with all the HDMI's into the soundbar and then output the video from the soundbar to the TV or will that lessen my TV video quality with the units I mentioned above (are there others that will work better in that manner),
Shoudl I run all the HDMI devices directly into the TV and then output the Audio from the TV to the Soundbar Via HDMI (if possible) or Digital Optical cable?
