Please help me choose. I'll be using it in master bedroom with my LG 42 inch plasma TV.and now i have narrowed it down to two.I know sony got more connections (HDMI etc) but i'll be only using Optical.
Sony HTCT150
Samsung HW-C450
I really want surround sound effects as much as possible as i mainly be using the soundbar to watch movies.just want the best sound.
Please suggest which one i should choose??
(everyone is talking about new upcoming Vizio soundbar , is it worth to wait although i hate waiting??)
Thnx in adv

The new vizio should be cheaper at 249.99. There is someone in the thread below that got to get one early and has not been overly impressed with it.

I just got the HT-CT150 for use with my 46" Samsung LCD TV in our living room. While it's not anything like my Onkyo 7.1 system in another room, it is a tremendous improvement over the TV's speakers. I found it to be definitely worth the price and am happy with it - easy to set up and pretty unobtrusive. The woofer is not a big blaster but I find it more than adequate for the job.

For what it's worth, I purchased the Samsung C450 a couple months ago and have been pretty happy with it but I don't know how it compares with the Sony. I got it mainly to clean up the clutter in our living room as I moved a premium surround system (Denon, Klipsch, B&W) to the basement. While the soundbar does not nor should not compare to the surround system I have it does a very nice job (much better than TV speakers) for TV viewing in the living room. The sub seems to have enough punch for me though it won't shake the floor like my B&W can. I like the fact that it has 2 optical inputs in addition to an analog input so I can hook up both Blu-ray and DVR via optical.

he didnt like it because i think the sub did not work and he couldnt return for a new one because target only had that one in stock that they sold to him early and wouldnt give him the one going out for display.

That is correct. The store manager told me vizio shipped the store two. One for the shelf, the other for the new fancy display Target will be using for the release of the bar. I never got any sound from the sub whatsoever. It is showing linked and all under my control is hooked up correctly. I still have the bar, planning to return it tomorrow. Hopefully they will have another in stock.I will try another VHT210 in order to be fair, because I really am impressed with the soundbar. If still not impressed I plan to go into knoxville for a 150 sony.

The ONLY reason that person did not like the Vizio is because he got a defective non-working unit,,, that can, and does happen, with any brand of anything that is sold.

Last year I got 2 defective Sony CT-500's, the third Sony CT-500 worked.

I would not be so quick to take the Vizio VHT210 off your list, it comes out Sunday 7/24/10.,,,I owned the current Vizio VSB210WS and also owned the Sonys CT-100, CT-150 and CT-500,,,, to me the Vizio was better than the Sonys.

You might also want to check out the JVC TH-BA1,,, I have a review of it here on AVS in case you have not seen/read it. http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=1264815

Cheers

Well I have the Samsung HW-C450. Had it for just over a month now. I am very happy with it. Dialog is clear. Been watching movies at volume level 20-22 (out of 50) and it's plenty loud. It has favorable user reviews on bestbuy and amazon.com. Wanted the Sony 150. In store it didn't sound or look as good as the Samsung and the other factor was the wireless sub. Playing xbox is an whole different experience as well. I would definitely recommend the Samsung.
