Just picked one up yesterday. I hooked it up via hdmi to soundbar and hdmi to TV. I see it displays 5.1 on the display and then says pcm. I was watching transformers and it shows to have audio in dts. In the options field, I select 5.1 dts, but on the sub, it displays 5.1 and then displays pcm. It does not show it broadcasting dts, even though it shows to decode dts in the manual. Am I doing something wrong?

When watching blu-rays with a Dolby True HD 5.1 or DTD HD 5.1/7.1 soundtrack the ct100 will display PCM, that just means your blu-ray player is encoding HD audio to the ct100. Your hook up is fine, sit back and enjoy the HD soundtrack.

But from reading on the net, it seems pcs is not true DTS. So why is the htct100 not decoding the dts hd sound?

Thanks.

The ct100 does not decode hd audio your blu-ray player does that, and sends it to the ct100 via PCM. Hope that helps.

Oh ok, so if my blu ray player did not decode the dts, then the soundbar would do that correct?

The ct100 does not decode HD audio, that's your BR players job. However with standard dvd's the ct100 will decode dolby digital/dts 5.1 audio on it's own. If you have a standard dvd movie with a dts soundtrack, pop it in your player and you will see the dts logo on the ct100's panel.

Also, you might take a peek at your owner's manual. In the specs section there's a chart showing supported formats and in the part about enjoying other components you'll find a "tip" about setting your player to output multi-channel PCM when the BD has an HQ sound format.
