I have a 50" Samsung and would like to get more dynamic sound. I tried a Vizio and also a JVC BA1. The problem is that when there is quite a few different sounds, they sound muddy and it is hard to understand the dialog. So I shut them off and revert back to the TV speakers.

Is there a sound bar that doesn't overwhelm the dialog and has a clear range (not muddy sounding). I would like to stay under $300. I was reading about 2 possible units on the internet, but of course you need to buy them to find out if they will do the job.

Yamaha YAS-101 and Sony CT150
(I have a subwoofer)

The soundbar that has a dedicated center channel/speaker usually can deliver better dialog. Of course the connection between your audio source and the soundbar should be able to pass the channel first.

The Sony HT-CT150 appears to have a center speaker.

Yes, Sony's 3.1 soundbar should be able to give you better quality on dialog channel.

[b]The ZVOX does have a "Dialogue Emphasis" that can be activated via a button on the remote. It is effective but when used, it does cancel out any surround sound features that you may have previously selected.
