I've heard that B&W's Panorama is being discontinued from the guys at Best Buy/Magnolia.

Are there any other soundbars (any manufacturer) on the horizon that are going to be released soon?

I've waited so long on this, I would hate to buy now only to have the "next generation" be released later this summer.

Is there a season for this that follows the trade shows? I'm kind of spinning my wheels on this decision (looking at the Panorama for months now).

Thanks!

So looks like ML and Def Tech is coming out with some nice active sound bars (spec wise). I don't know if these will be better than the Panorama, but looking at the price range, it shouldn't be. These wouldn't be release until summer/fall. So even if there's anything on the horizon, it'll be a long wait. If you like how the Panorama sound and is okay with the price point, I don't see a reason to wait...make sure you talk them down on the price, it's negotiable. I was offered ~10% off msrp even without negotiating yet...

Thanks for the head's up. Where did you negotiate on the Panorama? Best Buy?

I already tried one here, and they didn't bite.

I was at a local dealer (not Magnolia) asking about the paradigm soundbar since I wanted flexibility with a receiver, I mentioned that I want something that sound similar to the Panorama (I demo it at best buy and liked how it sound) and that's when the salesman offered me the discount. So look up the dealers around your area, hopefully you have more than 1, that way it's a little easier to negotiate, good luck!

Can you control the Panorama with any other controller besides the included one?

I have Directv and will want to control everything with one controller. THis will be used in a downstairs installation where kiddos have access to the controllers and I don't want to be searching for the tiny remote all of the time.

Thanks!

I don't have the panorama so I can't help you. But see this thread:

Else, give BW a call
