I was looking at getting the Polk 6000 soundbar http://www.polkaudio.com/products/surroundbar6000
which has one optical and two analog outputs to use with my Pioneer 5080 thinking it would be as simple as connecting the bar to the tv with an optical cable.
I'm now thoroughly confused on how I will connect this bar as all my devices (sat. box, xbox etc.) are connected to the tv via HDMI and supposedly this tv won't allow audio to pass through optical when devices are connected by hdmi.
Would I be able to use the optical if I were to use component for the sat box etc. connections or would I be better off connecting the tv to soundbar with the audio out on the tv. Also what about audio video syncing is that a problem with these bars. Thanks for any help, i need it.
