I am thinking of getting the Bose 1SR soundbar mainly due to 1) hearing it at Fry's and 2) davyo's glowing reviews.
However, I just noticed that davyo is selling or sold his... confused.gif

So now I am thinking maybe there is a better sounding surround bar for the money out now? Any advice would be much appreciated!

I don't know him at all but, from reading his posts, it appears that he swaps out his soundbars every few months max. I mean that in a positive way. He seems like a hobbyist that is always on the lookout for his next toy. I wouldn't worry much if you otherwise like it. If you have a question, ask him.smile.gif

thanks for your comments!

I am just wanting to get the best surround bar for the money and not sure if that is still the Bose 1SR or maybe it is the Sony 550W?

Goldenear's 3d cinema array has gotten great reviews. Haven't actually heard one myself.

The Def Tech is one of the first that I've read about that does that good a job on surround.

Big bucks, though...

However the DefTech is using psychoacoustics to achieve its effect, whereas the new Yamahas, which beam and reflect each of the channels, may be more authentically surround sound...if you have the right room acoustics. I'm still waiting for reviews on those.
