What are all of the sources that you have connected and how do you have them connected right now?

How did you connect the TV and the soundbar? in order to get audio for anything connected to the TV, you need to use an optical (toslink) cable from the TV to the soundbar.

thats the one thing im missing. an optical cable. i will pick one up today.

i unplugged everything. so nothing is connected right now. but usually i have an hdmi hook up from my imac to my tv. and another one hooked up from my tv to my ps3.

i even tried using the bluetooth option and connecting it to my imac but after all the steps it still says not connected.

do i need to have everything plugged in (both hdmi's, aux, and the optical cable) or are they just different kinds of ways to connect them?

after i pick up the optical cable what are the steps i need to take?

thank u for your responses

When you get the optical cable, the easiest thing to do is connect everything to the TV and then connect the optical out from the TV to the soundbar. In the interim, you can hook up an individual source directly to the HDMI IN on the soundbar and then connect HDMI OUT from the soundbar to the TV.

You do NOT need to have sources connected to every input on the soundbar. Assuming it is done correctly, 1 method will suffice.
