Looking for thoughts on these two passive soundbars for use in my living room setup. I will be driving it with a Yamaha RX-V2700 receiver and installing on the wall just below the tv.

I can't find any reviews (other than Amazon) on the AT. Lots of great reviews on the Def Tech.

My room is pretty wide and open, so not sure if the AT approach will work. Unfortunately, no one in my area carries either of these so its not possible to audition them in advance of a purchase.

Thanks in advance for any input....

Did you get any feedback offline or from other sources?

Apologies for bringing up this old post, but has anyone made this comparison? I'm considering a used FS-7.1 versus a used SSA-50.

I've installed both but have never compared them side by side. If you have side walls you might like the FS7 better as it tries to bounce sound off the walls. So if your room is open to other areas on the sides it won't give as good effect. It has been a longtime since I have seen one of these but from memory I would take the FS7 over the SSA-50 if I had side walls. The SSA-50 creates it soundstage by adjusting the phase between drivers which gives a nice wide sound stage but is not as natural sounding but will work better in open areas.
